Capital Gang, "Bush is easygoing and likeable"........
Said by Democrat Margaret Carlson. With friends like the Democrats who needs enemies.
this is it in a nutshell. i'm in ohio and bush is here today talking about JESUS. they love him. they think he's a man with honesty and integrity, EVEN after he smeared Kerry with falsehoods.
If the Democrats can't start fighting back then we probably won't win. I'm tired of arguing about this. I think we should start planning to evict every single TRAITOR democrat we have. Starting with Margaret Carlson. She's NOT a democrat she's a butt-sucking brown noser. You don't get 200,000 people to protest your nomination if your LIKABLE.
I think from now on we should start taking names. if we lose we can cheer ourselves up by crucifying the DINO's.

Are whites who have not gone to college. They like short sentences. They don't notice that he doesn't answer the actual questions he is asked by the press.

They also erroneously believe that religous people make good decisions. So they can relax and just "trust" the driver.

Now get out there and do what they have been doing.

At the MoveOn PAC meeting I attended in Cincinnati we were told the GOP voter volunteer corp has been in Ohio since 2000.

They've got theirs. We need to focus on ours.

Secular youth, artsy creative people, gays, secular poor people, minorities, college students, single women

I am passing out voter registration forms and talking to strangers on the street about the imporatnce of "sending that man back to Texas on Nov.2"

I challenge everyone who posts on this forum to get out there and campaign everywhere they go. Select your targets carefully and you will be surprised how easy and fun it is. More fun than posting on DU. I got some new Kerry voters at the grocery store today!

9. real nice guy who
ended a bill to give dr's to poor kids in TX years back.

Just did a budget which will toss 1/4 million MORE out to live on a piece of sidewalk {cut to housing aid}, where on average 1 in every 30 will die from the effects of exposure to the elements... just as one might predict.

cut Food Stamps too. already, 12 million hungry, so he is guaranteeing more will go hungry.

Nice guy, such a follower of Jesus. Mark 10:21 "sell all and give the money to the poor"-Jesus himself quoted.

Don't you think it's time we
took this bogus issue head on? The DNC, Kerry, Move-on, or someone should run a TV ad asking these very questions as clearly as possible: What's more important? Having a President the media tells you is likable (DON'T ADMIT HE'S LIKABLE), or having a President who's smart? Having a President the media tells you you'd like to have a beer with or having a President who put his life on the line for our country? Having a President the media tells you is easy going, or having a President who knows how to give all Americans health care, etc.? When you put it like that, this likablility thing really looks ridiculous. But you need to SPELL IT OUT.

18. Margaret Carlson is a Democrat like I'm the Queen of England.
But that "easygoing and likeable" crap is the same old meme they threw around in 2000 -- as opposed to stuffy, wonkish Al Gore. Shrub is the guy you want to have a beer with, right? Like that's such a great criterion for choosing a president. Like any of us peons will ever have a beer with any president, anyhow.

And I bet Bush* isn't even that great a guy to have a beer with. He's the putz who shows up at your backyard barbecue and drinks most of the beer, knocks over the grill, collapses your lawn chair, pees on your rosebushes, and then won't go home. Instead, he and your obnoxious brother-in-law sit on your patio far into the night, belching and making arm-farts and telling dirty jokes. Finally he passes out on your couch and you find him there in his underwear the next morning.

Yup, I'd love to hang out with the "easygoing and likeable" Shrubster.

Everyone seems to forget...No one can have a beer with Bush.

So the question should be:
Would you rather have a beer with John Kerry or
have a glass of Water with George Bush?

29. Likeability?
Bush's likeability qualifies him to be president?
Damn, SAtan's likeable too....let's all jump on the bandwagon.
This isn't a personality contest, this isn't a race for Prom king.
This is an election for the leader of the strongest nation in the world. And it boils down to likeability?
This is like that question: Who do you want to have a beer with...
Damn
Enjoying a beer with someone doesn't qualify them for this office.
I'd enjoy a beer with any redneck from my town but that doesn't qualify them, or me, to be president.
I don't care if my president is a frat boy.
I want a president that is smarter than me.
I want a president who can plan ahead and do with without a bargain with the devil (Cheney).
I want a president who has had more world experience than me.
And Bush doesn't apply.
What the hell is wrong with these people?

30. A purge may not be in order
but noting very carefully how people act in a pinch and what side receives the benefit deserves careful scrutiny. All markers, blackmail, stupidity, cowardice will be revealed.

A purge is violent overkill, but you should at least know those you never can trust again as prominent national spokespersons or opinion makers. It is time to watch journalists too to see the same qualities and loyalties that go beyond non-partisan professionalism.

Sadly, the religious right does not grasp the concept of hypocrisy, even though it's discussed pretty plainly in the Bible. They believe that their beliefs and desires make something true or false. If they want something to be true, then it is. You see it everywhere.

35. Isn't Al Hunt a member of Capital Gang?
Did he just sit there impassively while Carlson said this? Recall that in 1987, George Bush confronted Al Hunt in a restaurant and shouted at him because he had written that Jack Kemp would be on the Republican ticket and not his father. He used the "F" word twice to Hunt, in front of his wife and 4 year old child. Hunt later wrote that he thought Bush was drunk at the time.

Article describing this and several other uses of the "F" word by the easygoing, likeable, mild-mannered, pleasant and debonair George W. Bush:

"...Bush Even Cussed-Out a Newspaper Editor in Front of His 4-Year-Old Daughter - In 1987, Bush ran into Al Hunt, a Wall Street Journal editor who was minding his own business sitting at a restaurant with his wife and 4-year-old daughter. Bush lit into him, saying, among other things, "You no-good f—king son of a b—ch, I will never f—king forget what you wrote." (Hunt had simply predicted that the 1988 Republican ticket would be Kemp/Lugar, instead of Bush/Quayle.)..."

yesterday's WSJ poll asked that question -- do you find Bush "easygoing and likeable", and it was his best result. And the measure of whether someone is likable is whether people find him likeable. (other definitions wouldn't make much sense)
