Honor Mike Boorda

Admiral Boorda was the first enlisted sailor to rise to the post of Chief of Naval Operations. Two of his awards from Vietnam could be earned either for service or for valor. Boorda wore the Combat V (denoting valor) on them although his Officer Record Brief listed neither award as "with V."

Just before he was scheduled to meet with two Newsweek reporters investigating this, he committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest.

We can honor Admiral Jeremy Michael Boorda by ensuring that every mention of Shrub's foray into the world of the PX Hero tells that Admiral Boorda killed himself after getting caught doing the same thing, that's how seriously military professionals feel about this.

I've been writing that I don't think the unit ribbon issue matters, but if Hackworth thinks it's an issue then I'd change my mind.
