Poll: GOP Has Few Fans In NYC
New Yorkers are not looking forward to hosting the Republican National Convention next week: more than half say the Republicans should have gone somewhere else. Many worry about the possibility of a terrorist attack during the convention, or of possible violence from demonstrations and protest marches.

In fact, more than one in ten says they will simply get out of town.

SHOULD THE REPUBLICANS HAVE COME TO NEW YORK?

41% of New Yorkers say it was a good idea for the Republicans to hold their convention in New York City, but 52% say they should have gone someplace else. Two-thirds of self-identified Republicans say it was a good idea to have the Republicans come here, but they are a minority within the city.

The way I see it the GOP's only fans are radical Fundimentalist Christians, (Falwell, Robertson type), radical gun nuts, radical ignorant people unable to rationalize facts, and morally corrupt people who would do anything for money and power. But the some many good people just don't vote. If they did even with the lying Whore Media, the Dems would easily win most elections.

2. Where are they getting 41% in favor???
When over 75% of New Yorkers are anti-bush, and even a number of repubs are not looking forward to having the circus in town?

It's been all over the local news in NYC that most New Yorkers can't wait for the convention to be done and over with.

5. The Blue States Taxes Support the Red States
Edited on Sun Aug-29-04 12:12 AM by Erika
True, the urban cities have their taxes shifted to the red states. The red states get far more back in federal subsidies than they pay in. The blue states get back far less from federal subsidies than they pay in. No wonder they want Bush elected. They don't pull their own weight to start with. The red states hate the blue states but they just love sucking in the money the blue states pay.
