The scene you have reported is happening everywhere. In less than four years we have been up, we have been down, we have been confused and then when we attempt to share or in some way demonstrate our convictions, we find out we are as lost as those with opposing values.
It sounds like the event was a shock, as most public confrontations are. Shock and awe. Who knew then that it would bring average citizens of any economic ilk to the breaking point.
I'm a uniter, not a divider or so goes the stated goals of George Bush. I want to be the peace president, not a war president....
If it were all about one man, I think Americans could decipher that reality and make responsible choices in the face of present day difficulties. Truthfully, even regretfully, its not all about one man. Those with any degree of political savvy know that. Others refuse to acknowledge the force that facts are pounding their way into our everyday life.
Its about a weak man named Bush in the midst of competing and highly powerful interests such as corporations, Israel, Palestine, Europe, the Middle East and a host of others. Its about religious entities with goals that are mind boggling to the majority of us yet lethal in their intent to dominate citizens. Its about the demise of a manufacturing base in the US. its about a past that will only die when the last baby boomer who lived through Nam is dead.
Its about how we got here, who caused it and how much strength do we have to undo what has essentially made people in the US unhappy. Freedom without happiness is not freedom.
Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness....While we are fighting about the first two in the US, we've lost sight of the last.
