didn't say what he and Kerry talked about, other than that Kerry didn't ask him for anything

he's in FAVOR of embryonic stem cell research; mentions Nancy R

how damaging it would be to Bush if McCain pulled a Zell and publically endorsed Kerry. Not that I'm foolish enough to think it would happen.

7. On C-Span this AM, Cindy McCain was mentioned

She did an interview with someone, & was very sympathetic to John & Theresa Kerry, on what has been done to them.

Does anyone know anything about this story?

she was interviewed and is STILL very angry about what they did to her in South Carolina, and empathizes with how Kerry is being SMEARED by the same people who smeared her cowardly hubby

13. In The South Carolina Primary

Bush's people didn't settle for suggesting that McCain was brainwashed during his time as a POW into being a communist mole . They also spread rumors that the McCain's adopted child of color was an illegitimate offspring of the Senator's . And still not satisfied , they publicized Cindy's battle with depression . I was in SC at the time and though I have been in politics for many a year , I had not seen anything more false and vicious . My belief is that the Swifties are only the opening act . The Bushies will get worse as the desperation set in . That's why I applaud Kerry's effort to tie O'Neill to Rove because there is more coming .

Tom Schieffer may be a Democrat, but he still has a lot in common with President George W. Bush, namely baseball and oil.

Schieffer, Bush's nominee as ambassador to Australia, is the former president of the Texas Rangers baseball team who worked with Bush when the former Texas governor was part owner of the team. Schieffer is also a Dallas attorney whose clients reportedly include several oil and gas companies.

Schieffer served three terms in the Texas legislature as a Democrat. But he was a supporter of Bush's campaigns for governor and president. His brother, Bob, is a CBS News correspondent.

Schieffer and his wife gave all of $4,000 to candidates and parties in the 1999-2000 election cycle -- $2,000 to the Bush campaign and $2,000 to the campaign of Democratic Rep. Martin Frost (Texas).
