The national unemployment rate is 5.5 percent. That's lower than the average in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. The economy is getting stronger. (Applause.)



The only way he can make the unemployment look good is to compare it to the average over a totally arbitrary period?

He had another one too, about economic growth. I heard it from him and from his surrogates a number of times recently. A really carefully qualified boast about the growth being "as fast as" it has been as something or other.

As I recall, that one got (applause) too. Both should have gotten (laughter).

Isn't that right, Dubya ? And the recession you "inherited" had 4% unemployment and they were counting more accurately than you. That alone is almost million jobs difference since you stole the election. So if you "created" 1.5 million jobs in the last year, how do you make up for the 4 million you lost? You do know you are going to be the first president since the Great Depression not to have a net plus of jobs, don't you? Doesn't that scare the shit out of you, Dumbass?
