NOW they're showing the protests! guess why?
pretty obvious, isn't it?

they reFUSED to acknowledge them, from the very DAY it was inaugurated, through his first appearances afterward, to all the antiwar marches, downplaying the numbers, not showing the gigantic crowds, for the most part

the only exceptions was when there was "violence" on the part of the agents provocateurs, I mean protesters

Now, they're showing them again

why now?

3. Even if the only reason is hoping to find something disagreeable
we can definitely turn this to our advantage. The Cspan coverage is excellent and shows the depth and number of people with diverse views that are against the Bush administration. I'm recording this and am going to show it around.

(I remember watching the Woman's Choice demonstration in DC in the spring on Cspan and seeing almost NOTHING about it on any other channel)

7. Where are they going?
Are the protesters headed to a specific place? Are they going to congregate, will there be speeches? Sure hope so.

Look at all the free advertising C-Span is providing! Love it. LOL

4. They could show the empty RNC convention hall
no news there until tomorrow. I hope there are large crowds of protestors all week. Especially during Bush's acceptance speech.

13. World media is sitting in NY for a convention and they are bored.
I mean how many times can they listen to the spin of Terri Holt? Very rarely do yu have a confluence of events of this magnitude. NY, the city most damaged on 9/11, the powerbase of US media, is hosting a convention of Republicans who went to war, they say, to avenge 9/11.

There's nothing wrong with showing the protestors. There could be someone sitting in Arkansas who says, "Hey look! Those New Yorkers who were so brave after 9/11 think * is wrong about the war."

20. To coincide with a new attack on Kerry's own protesting of 30 years ago...
McCain has already given the green light on attacks on Kerry's post war activities...

The media will match these two stories together.

21. That and they have had their shills walk past the cspan camera/mic
shouting "Communists for Kerry" which is part of Rove's next attacks on Kerry -- my brother already thinks Kerry was a Commie, that he went over to North VietNam and worked with and sympathized with the communists.

I read that the next attack ads will have the image of Kerry with the North Vietnamese.

Rove & SBV have more attacks coming.

22. Don't take my word for it, take Judy's
(paraphrase) "The Kerry campaign is trying to distance itself from the protesters but the bush campaugn points out that the protesters represent the radical liberals that support John Kerry." Meanwhile in the background are images of the protests lookig like, well, protests.

I haven't had a chance to watch TV the last couple of days--christ, I hope the protest organizers recognize what the enemy is trying to do and restrict their own free speech--I know we all love our pet issues, and that giving a microphone to almost anyone is how we build crowds but why let the rethugs use them to get votes? Isn't that counterproductive to the idea of the protests?

The media is going to do a hundred replays in WI, MO, AK, and WV of the every kid shrilly screaming "Free the five trangendered cuban lumia nuns!!!!!" into a microphone.
