Wasilla Mayor Gives Sarah Palin Glowing Recommendation - Is her cousin
http://www.adn.com/matsu/story/452991.html

Ms. Keller said that Ms. Palin had three major achievements as mayor: She cut property taxes, increased the city sales tax by half a percent to support construction of an indoor ice rink and sports complex, and put more money into public safety, winning a grant to build a police dispatch center in town.

The governor said Friday that she “never really set out to be involved in public affairs, much less to run for this office,” referring to the vice presidency, but she rose quickly once she entered political life. “A P.T.A. mom who got involved,” is how the current mayor of Wasilla, Dianne M. Keller, described Ms. Palin.

(The above is from the New York Times, it is not mentioned in the article that the two women are related)

Ms. Keller is also under investigation for abuse of power.

WASILLA -- Mayor Dianne Keller said she has "absolutely no intention" of resigning despite a 4-1 vote by the city council Monday night asking her to step down over her handling of a proposed Parks Highway shopping center.

(I guess it just runs in the family)

5. More about Keller & Palin update re: 'Alaska Republican Spokesperson comments'
Edited on Tue Sep-02-08 04:04 AM by Arm Chair Politician
The reason Palin brought more money to the city was the recent building of new 'big box stores' in Wasilla which resulted in a huge increase in the city's sales tax. Palin didn't do this by cutting or reducing government. In fact, under Palin, government spending increased during her term in Wasilla.

Keller is a Palinbot. Under Keller's rule, city employees lead by the police department changed municipal law that prevented them from organizing into a union by passing a ballot initiative. City employees have since formed into unions because of her heavy hand and human resource policies. Keller also plays dirty politics and stole her opponents political signs in her last run for office. Because of everything that has happened the last number of years under Keller's rule, her political future is non-existent.

If the Dem's want to get some good gravy about Palin, they should talk to former employees of the City of Wasilla. In fact, there are a few lawsuits that may prove to be good stories about how she treated her employees. Palin management issues included firing her former police chief without notice...no-one in the department knew about the change until the new chief came into work unannounced to employees. I find it interesting that history appears to be repeating its self with the way she fired Alaska's top cop recently.

Did you hear the latest that the Alaska Republican Party spokesperson McHugh Pierre stated he didn't think Palin would be elected but would 'do good for Alaska'? Read about it here.
