Need help debunking the "Muslim thing"

I have a co-worker who came to me this morning looking for facts to refute the "Obama is a Muslim" lie. Her son and his friend were at her house this weekend and shocked both her and her husband with their claims. The friend even claims to have "really researched this."

According to them, the Muslims have already "taken over France" and are now going to do the same by installing Obama as President, because he's really a Muslim. They are going to vote for McCain in order to "save" our country.

I have the Snopes link and I also have the link from barackobama.com disputing this lie. I'm looking for other hard factual evidence - since they've "done their research" they aren't going to accept it only on word.

(I've already pointed out that even if he was a Muslim, so what, it's the most peaceful religion on this planet - but that won't get through their ignorant prejudiced little brains)

The McCain campaign would be making a big issue of it. Why isn't McCain shouting it from the rooftops? This can only mean 2 things:

1. McCain knows that Obama is a secret Muslim who wants to impose Islamic law on the U.S. and is doing nothing about it.

2. McCain is unaware of what is so obvious to people like your co-worker's son and his friend, and is therefore incompetent to save the country.


It really is that simple.

Muslim community better than most people (because of his international experience). But to me this is only positive--how could it not be good to have better contacts and relationships with the Muslims in this (and other) countries? How well will Little Miss Fundie understand and relate to the Muslims? Has she any experience with real religions? You know the kind that don't involve bizarre stuff like snake handling.
