The Coffins
Are they waiting so they can all march in a cohesive statement? This is so powerful.

This is powerful stuff. And they've been marching since 11:00, CDT? Wow! That is some parade! Go people! Can't be there in person, but please know that I'm there in spirit.

8. I DON't like the chants
it's a commemoration of needless slaughter.

it should be solemn

I don't like it

and since we're no longer a democracy

you HAVE to agree with me, since I said it first!

Somber. This is the most powerful anti-Iraq war image I've seen to date.

12. Put your TV on mute
You are hearing things that should have been heard at the Democratic Convention. If you don't like, that's just too bad!

17. Yes, I have been to the type of funerals you described
including some involving servicemembers that died in tragic and wasteful circumstances.

What was it they were they chanting?

The coffins remind me of the Vietnam protests so much. Sigh....

9. This is the most powerful antiwar image I have ever seen recently!
and it really speaks as to the folly of this Administration, and this Congress, in supporting and enabling a criminal war of aggression against another nation.

As the protesters chanted: Let Iraqis run Iraq, bring the troops home.

11. We are now just 28 away from 1000 dead US soldiers in Iraq
Such a sad waste of young lives, all for the lies and ego of one unelected man.

30. One thing I find very interesting about the casualites....
Notice that all the news these last few weeks have been about Najaf, yet if you look at the locations as to where the solders over the past couple of weeks were killed, only 2 or 3 were killed in the Najaf area. To me that tells me that 1) the US military is continuing to control what is told to us as to "how the country is improving" 2) Iraq is far more volitile than anyone in the media or the administration wants us to believe. And 3) the various area that were deemed "safe" appear never have been in the first place.

25. The Coffins should take their statement on tour!
They could take them to all the battle ground states and march them through the streets of city's and towns alike.
March them through known republican dominate neighborhoods.
Then they should take them to Washington DC and set them up on the National Mall. The hill on the north side of the Washington Monument would be good as they could be seen from the White House.

were dignified and powerful statements. For that reason, I wonder if they were even shown on the cable networks, which I'm boycotting. Does anyone know? Way to go, protestors!:toast:

I haven't had cable for over 4 years. Nothing but slant and BS. I get all my news from the net. I don't believe anything that is shown on TV. I prefer to go right to the source.

28. The coffins were
the march's finest moment - a powerful reminder of how these criminals have callously sacrified American lives for oil, greed, and corporate profit. A stroke of genius.
