I just joined the site a few hours ago and when I try to make a new post it tells me I don't have enough replies to start a post, and I'm getting too impatient not to share this. So take a look at this. It's a little confusing, so bear with me.
I sent this in an email to HuffPo, but I don't see anything on their site about it yet.
While not proving that Sarah Palin was a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, I stumbled across a whole bunch of photos of Sarah on the AIP website akip.org. Here's the kicker, they are not immediately visible from the main web site.
If you go to the photo gallery page listed on the main web site:
http://www.akip.org/gallery.htmlyou would think that is their main photo gallery. However, while doing an image search for Alaskan Independence Party photos, I ran across the following page, which isn't a menu option on the site's main page. It is from an older version of the web site that hasn't been updated since 2002.
http://www.akip.org/photo.htmlYou'll see a bunch of photos labeled Move It! 2001 apparently relating to this event:
http://www.akip.org/moveit.htmlWhat you DON'T SEE on this photo gallery page are listings for the following photos, which I found by simply substituting a different number at the end of the photo url.
Of notable interest is photo
, where Sarah Palin appears to be signing the initiative petition.
Don't know what can be with these, as the initiative petition only involves moving legislative sessions from Juneau to a location outside of Anchorage. It does show she agrees with the AIP on this issue at least, and verifies that she did attend some events that they sponsored. Additionally, it seems kind of shady that none of these photos are accessible. If you do the same "substituting the numbers" trick with the photos on the main web site photo gallery page, it doesn't work.
I've saved these images to my hard drive, but it might not hurt if someone else did it as well.
