We're getting sidetracked, not sure that fights over the "experience" gap is going to play well with voters. We need to reinforce "the more of the same with McCain" which was echoed in an ad the Obama campaign put after after the pick!!!!

Some voters will like this "out of Washington" appeal of Palin

2. I disagree
They're election is now to sell Palin to themselves. Oh, and get McCain elected.

The longer they're in a competition with themselves, the easier it is for them to be defeated.

5. I think the ad Obama put out as reaction to the pick was the right thing to do, I think
they need to be careful not to go too negative on her, because I think the average voter could be swayed. Not everyone looks at things the way we do.

8. Obama is too smart for that
he hasnt been sucked in yet I dont expect him to be now. Also I read yyesterday that Hillary is pissed off and chomping at the bit to tear this woman a new one. He can let her run wild without having to lift a finger.

Funny that in the end Hillary may turn out to be his best ally.

9. All of the above
Failin matters only as one concrete example of McCain's frightening spontaneity and poor judgment. We need to hammer home ISSUES, JUDGMENT, TEMPERAMENT. The republicans want this to be about people - we need this to be about issues and policies - failed policies. Four more years of the last eight years, ownership society - (you are on your own), and responsibility - lay the responsibility for a sour economy, budget deficits, and a miserable foreign policy at the feet of the republican party they have earned it.

DO NOT let them make this about Sarah Failin - hockey mom. I don't give a shit if she can field dress a moose - should she be a heartbeat away from the presidency? This is about the future of the nation not a puff piece in People magazine.

11. Too many people "shoulding" here. If Obama had picked someone like Palin, would Pubs be silent?

12. Same thing.
Palin appears to be another in a long string of unqualified political appointees. She's this year's Monica Goodling.

Unless McCain plans to hand over the POTUS to her immediately, we need to focus on his judgement (or lack of). Period. How does he explain his constant meme against Obama "not ready to lead" in this critical time, yet pick a running mate with so little experience? His maverickness went down the tubes when he let Dobson decide who might be one heartbeat away from leading this country. Scary stuff! What other hair-brained half-cocked decisions will he make?

ETA: meant to say "disagree", not "agree" DUH!
