Please God, Let Palin Tout Family Values Tonight
Remember how well that went for Quayle in 90s when the real issue was the economy and a go-nowhere war?

I think it'd be the last nail in the Republican coffin.

1. She's going too -- "liberal media and angry left are trying to destroy my family"
See wapo article:

WAPO: McCain Strategist Blasts Media - News Organizations Are 'on a Mission to Destroy' Palin

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/02/AR2008090203144.html

ST. PAUL, Minn., Sept. 2 -- Sen. John McCain's top campaign strategist accused the news media Tuesday of being "on a mission to destroy" Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin by displaying "a level of viciousness and scurrilousness" in pursuing questions about her personal life.

2. We'd better reframe this issue
and do it soon. This should not be about Palin's family. It should be about her positions on issues and her political weaknesses.

Everyone knows her daught is pregnant now so there is no need to rehash this over and over.

She needs to be asked what her domestic policy positions regarding health, education and science are. These are issues where she will be having a great deal of control over should she become VP. This is what that RWers want. Forget about national security. They want someone who will advance their domestic policy agenda and that's what they have with Palin.

5. Then we have to press then on it
Leave her family out of it.

If people are going to vote based on what her family is about so be it. There is a very large segment of this population who might have some serious concerns about what this woman's positions are on domestic issues. That's what she's been picked for. Not foreign policy - domestic. Health. Education. Science. That's the agenda she will be given to advance if she makes VP.

She won't be a foreign policy VP like Cheney. She will be a domestic policy VP with just as much power.

4. I know
It's time to use her crazy family to expose her crazy political ideas. This is really detracting from what we need to do to win.

7. Is there anything left in the tank with "Bad Liberal Media" whines?
Seriously, how many actual independent voters believe that crap these days? So much so that a brief bit of education from Team Obama about recent history (i.e., a month's worth of Preacher-gate being treated as "news") won't make it seem beyond lame?

I just don't see that as enough to pull significant numbers into McCain's camp.

And then there's this woman's voice... oy.

6. I bet she talks about Bristol
(the Washington Post reported that they are still deciding on whether to bring that up). I think that she will also go on a crucade against "sexism from the liberal media"...

8. She's going to read a speech written by the McCain campaign.
It will have lots of foreign policy stuff in it. When she's through reading it, the campaign will say that her ability to read it proves that she's capable of handling foreign policy.
