Since the media plays this game with every Democrat, saying they have to do x, y and z, let's at least set a target for Palin.
She has already demonstrated that she can speak well and colorfully, and that she has strong beliefs in her values.
1) She must provide convincing evidence and not just thinly plausible justications about why she has sufficient experience to be President of the USA.
2) She must, without bringing her family into it as a crutch, explain why her policies about sex education, contraception, abortion and funding for unwed mothers are not an inconsistent mix setting up young women for ruined lives.
3) She must demonstrate that not only will she occasionally challenge a corrupt politician, but that as a politician she is not inclined toward corruption herself. In particular, she must explain why she has been willing to fire people for political opposition. She must also explain how
4) She must reconcile her own and Sen. McCain's positions on taxing oil companies, and she must reconcile her stated positions with own actions regarding earmarks.
5) She must assure Americans that she has good judgment and decision making abilities, not just in terms of espousing a pro-life position, but in terms of actual tough decisions she has made in either policy or personal life or both.
6) She must provide assurance that she would serve America's best interests as a whole, even if it meant going against Alaska's selfish interests.
7) She must explain convincingly how she would deal with international crises at 3AM, other than to say that she would listen to her advisors, and she must explain where her judgments would come from.
7) Since she has compared herself to Hillary Clinton, she must do more than say generically that she is a woman, she must explain how she would improve women's lives in particular, with respect to both economic and legal status.
What else does Palin NEED to accomplish tonight?
