How many of you are deputy voter registrars, which means you can register people to vote? And how many of you have registered people to vote?
I have a very respectful suggestion that the next time you feel worried, you take action! It makes you feel sooo good. Takes that worry right away!
Instead of worrying about undecided voters and polls, get out there and register people to vote. Ask everyone you know if they are registered to vote. Talk to the young people who will be eligible to vote for the first time. See if any elderly you know need rides on the day of.
Take action! Higher turnout tends to help Dems!!!
And I don't care if you are in the reddest of all red states, if you find someone who doesn't like bush or is leaning Kerry but hasn't registered yet, GET THEM REGISTERED.
Find ways to work it into the conversation. If you can't do it at work, fine, but wear a button everywhere you go...it strikes up a lot of conversations. Then take that opportunity to ask about voter registration. You aren't asking who they are voting for (some people would find that rude), but simply asking if they are registered.
Wear a shirt that says VOTE in great big letters. Remind women how hard their ancestors fought for the right to vote. Etc.
