CNN International showing lots of frustrated RNC delegates (quotes)
Edited on Mon Aug-30-04 02:22 AM by VolcanoJen
Poor things; it's going to be onehelluva week. Some delegate interview highlights (thanks, Tivo!):

Bob Davis, New York Delegate:"They're (the protesters) just trying to make our party look bad, and make our president look bad. Well, you know what? We're going to have our convention in New York City anyway, and it's going to be a darned good successful convention!"

Really? Their president? So he's not the President of the United States of America anymore?

Pat Longo, Connecticut Delegate:"Hopefully, they'll keep the protesters away from the delegates. We have, uh, we have 135 people coming in from Connecticut, and we've told them not to interact with any protesters."

Hey, Pat!! Who are you wearing? Ostrich, by Versace?

Greg Mathena, Kansas Delegate:"I haven't seen ONE protester! I would go so far as to say that, the way things are, with the security on every corner, nothing of consequence is going to happen.

How manly, how soldierly, to hide behind the cops to avoid an uncomfortable discussion! Good show, Republicans! But we knew that about you already... yawn...

Clark Judge, former Reagan Speechwriter: I think that if they behave badly, there's going to be a reaction against them, and therefore a reaction against Kerry.

LOVE your meme! Was that blast-faxed, or did you come up with it all by yourself?

4. Did Delegate Davis WHINE when he made his remarks?
Edited on Mon Aug-30-04 02:42 AM by Kukesa
Honestly, doesn't he sound like a 12-year-old??

I wonder if he stomped his little foot, put his hands on his hip, and made a pouty face.

"I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, . . . "

Sorry, Bob, we don't like you.

5. In answer to the 4 frustrated RNC delegates quoted on this post,
To delegate #1. Yes, you bet !!!! Protesters are speaking for everyone last one of us who think of Bush, his cabinet, his Republican GOP, should be exposed for all the evil, havoc and mayhem they have wrought upon a people and upon the world. They, the bushes, are truly evil indeed, and those regular Americans who support him are supporting, perhaps unwittingly so, the spread of all the evil and heartache created by one very, very sick and evil soul: Bush...

To delegate #2. are you afraid you and your 135 people from Connecticut will catch and be taken over by whatever the anti-Bush germs are spread by truthful protesters? Perhaps you are afraid of truth -- just like your man GW is.

To delegate #3. I am sure Bush hasn't seen any protesters either, but then Bush doesn't see what he doesn't want to see, like the fact that millions of people all over the world hate him, that if the corporate media weren't trying to hide the fact, the fact being reported and shown on television would be that people who support bush is a very small minority of people, usually very rich, and usually very greedy, and some times very fearful because they've bought unto the bush paranoia, and some times just because they are very ignorant of facts.

To delegate #4. Are you sure that a reaction against the protesters, coming from the likes of you who are already in bush's pocket, is going to amount to a reaction against Kerry. Those of you at the convention are already predisposed against Kerry. I would think that a reaction against the protesters would cause a flowing of support towards Kerry and his banner of hope and freedom of speech.
