It's just a local vernacular. If you say snowmobile, we know you're not from here. Todd Palin is a long-distance snow machine racer, and has won the "Iron Dog Classic" more than once. I guess he likes big-boy toys, and we like races up here -- winter is otherwise pretty boring. What we need, though, is hydrogen-cell snowmachines, and then people could play with their toys and not pollute the atmosphere. It's a good way to get around when you don't have roads -- which is most of the state.
