I met a "Kid for Kerry" yesterday( and registered people to vote)

I was manning the County Dem booth at the county fair and met some great people including a little boy about 10 -11 years old. He went for a bumper sticker on the table and I jokingly asked if he had a car to put it on. He told me he likes Kerry because he's going to explore alternative energy sources (not said in those words exactly), like corn and then there won't be so much pollution. He got the sticker AND a button. I said, Cool, you're a Kid for Kerry! and he nodded very enthusiastically. I had a blast being in the booth and talking to undecideds. They are definitely out there (though it's hard for me to understand how it is possible to be undecided at this point). I spoke to a late 20's something guy who told me he was undecided. By the time he'd left he had changed his party affiliation and was planning to vote for Kerry. I felt so bad for him. He's working all the time, no health insurance for himself but he is paying for his mom's cancer drugs and his little boys insurance. What will happen to his mom and his son if he gets sick or injured? Talked to another guy whose girlfriend is a Kerry supporter but he was still making up his mind. I told him how hard it is for me and hubby to make the heath insurance premiums. That impressed him and he said he hadn't thought about the self employed. I think I made a dent in his thinking and his girlfriend seemed thrilled that he was talking to me. I had a really good time, felt like I was helping even if I couldn't make it to NYC for the protests.

2. Who would allow them to appear at the same time...
as the shrub twins? Hey, i'm no startegist but the idea that both sets of daughters were grouped together ( I guess 2 on screen 2 on stage ) is a very bad idea and I can't understand how anyone from the Kerry campaign would allow that to happen.

4. I too...
This past Saturday, I met an incredible girl, age 17, who has organized Teen Democrats. They are doing phone banking, voter registration and canvassing. The intent was to pull in the 14-20 crowd.

However !!! At my bumpersticker brigade this past weekend, there were teens present between 12-16, holding Kerry signs and handing out bumperstickers.

I was SO proud. I'll bet their mom was too.

6. A group of teens yesterday asked if they could have stickers
we said sure, are you registered to vote. They sadly replied they weren't old enough. No problem, said we, talk to your parents!
