America can't survive 4 more yrs. of bush, no way, no how
and if bush gets back in for another term, by hook or crook, utter chaos will ensue. i'll be scolded i suppose for being afraid of the future of the nation, and called a nattering nabob of negativitiy, but i fear the shit will hit the big fan big time if bush steals it again. and i DON'T think that it will go down as smoothly as last time.

11. ahem. . .
. . .Godwin's Law violation.

Besides, the Nazis were, at least, COMPETENTLY evil. We're dealing with INCOMPETENT evil here. . .

2. I say
we don't survive through Nov. 3rd, no matter who wins. If Bush wins, it's holy war. If Kerry wins, the culture war finally becomes a true war.

3. sad, but plausible
i see that too. kerry wins, republicans go into full attack/coup de tat mode and impeach him. there'll be another phony attack blamed on osama, and kerry will be labelled impotent to deal with terrorism.

no matter who wins, we will all be fucked by republicans.

not a rosy scenario

8. agreed with the impeach/coup mode
I've been saying that for a while now - if Kerry pulls the upset & gets elected, wait for him to get through his first 100 days to allow the Limbaughs of the world to get the RW groundswell going and then we'll get the impeachment process started.

Limbaugh has already implied that Kerry had Senator Heinz killed so he could marry Teresa... how many full investigations will we have into that? I mean, Vince Foster had 5 investigations into his death, and even Fat Tony Scalia denied the request for the 6th.

7. That's why we have to take back the House & Senate
Even if Bu$h does steal the election again. I doubt if he will make it through the first year with being forced to resign. But that is why it is crucile that we take back Congress.

6. I hate all the negativity about our chances but...
I agree with you on this point. If Bush is elected, America as we know it is gone.

Kerry needs to win by at least 2% any less than that and the Republicans
will challenge the count all over the country throwing our nation into chaos. They feel an entitlement to rule and will not care how much damage they do to the country in an effort to keep power.

There are also the fundies to worry about. They truly believe that Bush is selected by God. Their reaction to his defeat may well be quite violent. I hope Kerry has excellent security. Imagine the danger he will be in during the last couple of weeks of the campaign if polls show him with a solid lead.

Its all up to the American public. Are they so far gone as to re-elect one of the worst administrations in history?

10. disagree on the Fundies
I think the Fundies are patient. They started 25 years ago building an infrastructure within the Republican Party. They first elected candidates to local school boards, town councils, etc. Then, they went on to state legislatures and now they have effective control of the Republican Party.

However, they've had defeats before and will just re-tool and come back stronger than ever. They are breeding us out of existence - why do you think all those Fundie stay-at-home wives have 10+ kids? Because they know that over time, their numbers will grow & grow & grow because of this.

12. If you think that Bush would be impeached
Why wouldn't we want to make that a campaign issue? Many Americans will remember how Watergate tore at the fabric of America for months and months after the 1972 election. Remember what the impeachment hearings and trial on Clinton did? Is anyone up for that long drawn out process when there are so many more important issues at stake?

If the Dems could start running on the notion that there are plenty of items for articles of impeachment against Bush and if he is re-elected it will proceed forward wouldn't that 1 - make them look closer at Bush's record, 2 - most Repugs would want to avoid at all cost the possibility of another one of their guys being forced to resign or be impeached, and finally, 3 - wouldn't it scare the living begeebies out of everyone thinking that Cheney could be president? Maybe they would just rather go the short route and de-select Bush this go round rather than having to live through something like that again and live to fight another day. Bush does not have the polls numbers to support him in an impeachment fight like Clinton did. Much more dicey for the Repugs. Voters just might decide it is much easier, quicker, and less decisive for the country as a whole.

Just one more campaign strategy in our quiver of arrows against this guy. Just a thought.
