Wait a minute -- Sarah Palin does not have a law degree??

I saw she went to U. of Idaho, and assumed that meant she went to law school there. All I can find is a degree in journalism though???

You've got to be kidding me -- she never went to grad school??

21. I went to three different colleges before getting my bachelor's degree.
Obama also transferred from one college to a different one before matriculating. George Bush went thru an ivy league school in the standard four years. What's the point of this goofy prejudice again?

36. didn't mean for it to be derogatory - just thought I'd get it out there that she didn't just go to
U of Idaho.

I went to 2 different schools myself, which is fairly common. Gotta admit that going to 3 is less common. Like anything else, there can be good reasons for such a situation, and also less-good reasons.
DIdn't mean to hurt your feelings.

It is true, that in THIS day and age (not 100 or 200 yrs. ago), her academic credentials are fairly light for someone aspiring to such high office. Then if you combine that with her lack of govt. experience, she really seems like a lightweight.

(academic credentials don't always mean much, especially IF you've got lots of smarts and a good work ethic to compensate. Neither of which Palin seems to possess.)

25. Wrong. I worked for a college. Admissions offices love transfer students.
Transfer students, like Palin and Obama, are more dedicated, more reliable payers of student costs, and tend to have higher GPAs at the institutions they transfer to than full four-year students. Yes, they do get a little more scrutiny in the application office, but once accepted they perform better than traditional students.

And she is not qualified to be VP. But there are a lot of fine people who have accomplished great things who never went to college. But Palin is not one of them.

26. General Washington et al.

Did not need degrees because they were self-educated in all of the classic and contemporary literature of their time.

Compare, say, the correspondence of G. Washington with, for example, the emails of Sarah Palin.

28. Let's try a little head-to-head comparison.
John McCain -- US Naval Academy 1958 (894th of 899)

Barack Obama -- Occidental College for two years.
-- transferred to Columbia University in New York City, where he majored in political science with a specialization in international relations, and graduated with a B.A. in 1983
-- entered Harvard Law School in late 1988 and at the end of his first year was selected as an editor of the Harvard Law Review based on his grades and a writing competition. In his second year he was elected president of the Law Review, a full-time volunteer position functioning as editor-in-chief and supervising the law review's staff of 80 editors. Obama's election in February 1990 as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review was widely reported and followed by several long, detailed profiles. He graduated with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) magna cum laude from Harvard in 1991

Sarah Palin -- one semester at Hawaii Pacific College—now Hawaii Pacific University—in Honolulu in 1982, majoring in Business Administration.
-- transferred in 1983 to North Idaho College.
-- in 1987, received a Bachelor of Science degree in communications-journalism from the University of Idaho, where she also minored in political science.

Joe Biden -- graduated in 1965, from the University of Delaware in Newark, where he double-majored in history and political science.
-- received his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in 1968

Any questions?

33. Well well well, seems someone HAS "run" something after all...
"In his second year he was elected president of the Law Review, a full-time volunteer position functioning as editor-in-chief and supervising the law review's staff of 80 editors."

80 editors... that's more than the staff of the entire city of Wasilla. So much for the notion (absurd to start with) that he's never run any organization (as if his campaign didn't count)...

38. presidents without graduate degrees - 20th Century
Reagan, Eisenhower, Truman (no college degree, 2 years study of law), Johnson.

Polls suggest that those folks include some of the most highly rated presidents of the 20th Century. I wouldn't make a big deal of her lack of a graduate degree.

41. It's not that she doesn't have a grad degree, but she doesn't have anything on her record
that suggests any thoughtful analysis or curiosity about the world outside Wasilla until she got to Juneau. Now she just seems to think about Alaska. Didn't she ask what being VP would do for Alaska? She's completely parochial.

Really, she's a lot like the Shrub in that way.
