Listening to Tim Russert on the "today show" put me in a
fighting mood. For those who missed it, he said that Bush had edged ahead of John Kerry because "people still don't know who he is and that no one is gonna hand him the Presidency, that he has to get out there and fight for it." If Tim would get his head out of Bush's ass for a minute he would see that not only Kerry but Edwards as well have well indeed BEEN OUT THERE! :argh:

1. Why have we slipped so much in the polls? Time and time...
and time it seems as though the Repugs manage to do this. It is truly sickening.

3. Slipped so much in the polls?? Hahahahahahaha...
What's sickening is that people give polls so much credit.

5. It has always been a roller coaster ride.
Let us not forget; Repugs own the media corporations, they have the majority in the House, the Senate and Supreme Ct....and of course the White House.

Gheeze-H-C......we are holding our own! There are millions, upon millions not evaluated in these "media/corporate managed polls.

2. You're both right.
The Johns have been out there - but most of the people in the squishy middle won't even start paying attention till a week or two before election day.

Of course, WE can do something about that. WE can get out and knock on doors and make phone calls and help the undecideds to start paying attention. Channel that "fighting mood" and your frustration with Little Russ into positive action for JK/JE...

9. I work phone banks
I want to yell it to the top of my lungs," Bush sucks, I had him for governor and for those who don't seem to remember how horrible he was at that, then continue to look back at the last 3 and half years. WHY anyone would vote for Bush after he had pillaged the treasury, sent OUR SOLDIERS to die in an unjust war, pushes prejudice and hatred at a group of people who are ENTITLED to the same rights under the constitution in order "wedge" and pander to his fundies, is beyond me. Wake the hell up--UNDECIDED VOTERS!

4. Yelling at people isn't fighting
Still can't figure out how these people equate yelling to fighting. Bush yelled at the terrorists, he's so brave. :eyes:

11. Kerry is not going to be able to crack thru the corporate media filter.
At this point it's pretty apparent that corporate media will withhold the truth and say just about anything so as to give momentum to shrub. It is going to be a major uphill battle for Kerry to knock thru all of this nonsense. Not only is he up against shrub but he also has to fight back the corporate media smear to get a few of his opinions out to America.

Tough times ahead!

14. No. I abhor the Repugs. However, that does not mean....
I am going to white wash everything and make it sound like everything is roses. I call it like it is and if folks get upset I think that is a reflection on them. Too many people simpkly can't handle reality.

Can we still win? Yes.

Will we still win? Probably.

Do we have a lot of work to do? Definitely.

15. Except that "calling it like it is" means you have to know the facts...
The facts are that Kerry is up or tied in most of the polls (see the many other threads with links) and that the numbers have not changed outside the MOE.

That's the reality. Check it out.

16. that's why WE have to be more VOCAL
and LOUD. I think most of here do a damn good job at getting emails out to the media, but vigilence is what is needed for these next few weeks and I have NO DOUBT we will be vigilant.

NO MORE BUSH!

19. In a sense Russert is correct
I still don't think many people know who Kerry is and on the pivotal issue of this election--Iraq--they are confused about his stand. I think the debates will hopefully clarify this. The debates will be more critical in this election than any other in my mind.

20. I'm glad Kerry isn't way ahead in the polls.
If he would be way ahead NOW, I think Dems would get lazy and feel they don't have to bother to vote because shrub is losing anyway.

The polls need to stay either very very close, or show shrub slightly ahead to maintain that fighting spirit in our voters!
