It's official: "all-out victory against terrorism may not be possible"

WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) says staying the course in the war on terror will make the world safer for future generations, though he acknowledges an all-out victory against terrorism may not be possible.

"You cannot show weakness in this world today because the enemy will exploit that weakness," he said. "It will embolden them and make the world a more dangerous place."

When asked "Can we win?" the war on terror, Bush said, "I don't think you can win it. But I think you can create conditions so that the — those who use terror as a tool are — less acceptable in parts of the world."

Bush planned to campaign Monday in New Hampshire, which has voted for only four Democratic presidential nominees in the past 100 years but is up for grabs this November. It's his eighth trip to the state as president.

1. FLIP-FLOP!
Indecisive. Does not deserve his medals. Earned them under false pretenses.

2. He's all about "creating conditions"!
That's the reason why he gets away with the shit he does! He never defines things allowing the faithful to create their own image of blissfulness. Then, when it's an enemy, he demands details so he can pick it apart and throw out another generality creating more fear for the followers.

3. That's so inspiring
"Hey we can't win, but still you can't show weakness. You cannot show weakness in front of terrorism. But as President I'd like to admit we can't win. These two sentances seem to conflict if you are not a master of zen wisdom like Me."

5. Will this be the repeated-hundreds-of-times Dem talking point
on tonight's coverage? No brainer, right? A great way to blunt the GOP's 9-11 message today--a flip flop by the chimp? Who wants to take a guess what percentage of Dem surrogates will repeat that point?

6. I just hope that every second of the Dems' response is...
...filmed next to a "Mission NOT Accomplished" banner. That one needs to be crammed up Dubya's digestive tract the entire time he is strutting, prancing and pouting across the RNC stage.

10. Of course not

If the “war on terrorism” suddenly ended, where would all the defense contractors with their hand in the public troth go for their riches?

Our economy isn’t based on oil, it’s based on WAR.
