Bush on Bush? "those who use terror as a tool are less acceptable"
Let me get this straight...your ENEMY will exploit your WEAKNESS? As en example...let's say you're afraid of terrorist attacks. Let's also say a certain incumbent presidential candidate knows you're afraid. Could it be said that running on a platform of "vote for me or you will not be protected from terror" is an exploitation of your weakness?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20040830/pl_afp/us_vote_bush&cid=1521&ncid=2043

"I think if we are strong and resolute, it's less likely that your kids will live under the threat of Al-Qaeda for a long period of time."

"I don't have a definite end," the president noted on the eve of his nomination to a second four-year presidential term at this week's Republican National Convention in New York. "But I want to make sure your kids can grow up in a peaceful world. If we believe you can't win, the alternative is to retreat."

"We cannot show weakness in this world today, because the enemy will exploit that weakness," Bush declared. "It will embolden them, and make the world a more dangerous place."

He added, however, that while it is unlikely terrorism will ever be completely eradicated, "I think you can create conditions so those who use terror as a tool are less acceptable in parts of the world."

1. What an utter bunch of feces
"I think if we are strong and resolute, it's less likely that your kids will live under the threat of Al-Qaeda for a long period of time."
Let's see. If we are strong and resolute, planes flying into buildings won't hurt as much? And you are giving yourself credit for instilling those traits in the general public how, exactly? By continuing to tell us how much danger we are in? By jacking the terror alert up whenever you are called on your incompetence in office? WTF are you talking about, idiot?

"I don't have a definite end," the president noted
Well, par for the course. You didn't have a beginning either.
Here's a clue: your ending is November 2, 2004, you intestine.

"I think you can create conditions so those who use terror as a tool are less acceptable in parts of the world."
You mean like pissing off 95% of the middle east by attacking an innocuous sovereign nation (feel free to look it up in the dictionary if you're having trouble with the big words, Shrubber)? What kind of 'upside down' logic is bashing a hornet's nest with a stick to try and peacefully co-exist with them?

2. He's just lowering expectations so he can "discuss his record"
1). No record to run on...time for Rove to assemble "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth"

2). Hey, this is pretty awesome...the only thing on the TV is Kerry's Vietnam record...no Iraq, no economy, no health care, none of that crap, just the news media showing the Swift Boat ads 24 hours a day, for free!

3). Hey, wait a minute...is that Kerry fighting BACK? Discussing MY failures? Saying I'm involved in the Swift Boat ads and coming up with names to prove it? Karl, I thought you said he'd fold like a cheap suit and then come and give me a big, sweaty hug, like McCain! Kerry is FIGHTING BACK! KARL! KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRL!

4). Well, this is great...the polls show Kerry has taken a hit from the ads...but WAIT, what's this? I'm taking a hit too for running a dirty campaign? D'oh!

5). "Senator Kerry served honorably in Vietnam. He was in harm's way and I was not. Senator Kerry is the wind beneath my wings."

6). "We've accomplished a lot in the last four years, but there is still more to do. If we are strong and resolute, blah blah blah blah blah..."
