The RNC will be touting W's leadership. They are 100% correct. He has been an historic leader. Let's remind them of exactly how historic he has been!

Feel free to download and distribute my tribute to George Bush's leadership!

1. An Historic is not correct, grammatically speaking. It's A Historic
unless you don't pronounce the H in Historic, like you don't in "an honorable"---that would be correct cuz of the way you pronounce honorable.

2. Thanks but...
I looked it up first...
From Merriam-Webster

HISTORICAL: as a : famous or important in history <historic battlefields> b : having great and lasting importance <an historic occasion> c : known or established in the past <historic interest rates> d : dating from or preserved from a past time or culture <historic buildings> <historic artifacts>

4. Not so.... there's no fast rule on this...
(as if this really mattered- in light of the content). The two usages are both deemed correct... To show you this is so, I offer just two:

An Historic Moment in Boston - was the title of a trade show last year.
An Historic Moment for Nato - a book by Niles Gardiner

...of thousands of uses of the phrase. On the other hand, it's just as common to see "a historic" used. It's one of those undefined usages that is acceptable either way.

So, let's be more concerned with the message....and not quibble over grammatical purity.

3. Historic, yes. Whenever a "worst president" list is compiled...
* is likely to top it, every time.
