Kerry, Bush daughters booed on MTV
Edited on Mon Aug-30-04 12:29 PM by cal04
(Word from those who observed the MTV video awards event is that the Bush girls were booed loudly when they were introduced. CNN and other Bushie media tried to hide this by pointing out that the booing started when BOTH sets of girls, Kerrys and Bushes were introduced in one sentence. HOWEVER, the cameramen showed a standing ovation for the Kerry girls, who were present (the Bush girls were on video), while 2/3 of the way through this CNN propaganda piece, it is admitted that when the Bush girls video speech segment ended, the booing stopped. Cheers began as the Kerry girls started to speak again. Yet CNN's headline reads: "Kerry, Bush Daughters Booed on MTV.")

Reaching out to young Americans at MTV's Video Music Awards Sunday night, the daughters of President Bush and his Democratic challenger Sen. John Kerry were met by loud cheers and jeers. It was unclear exactly whom the cheers and the boos were meant for or why. They began immediately after radio and MTV personality Carson Daly introduced "from New York, Barbara and Jenna Bush and here in Miami, Vanessa and Alexandra Kerry."The Kerry daughters were at the event in Miami; the Bush daughters appeared in a pre-recorded video.

"My sister and I are thrilled to be here tonight with you all in Florida," said Vanessa Kerry, "and to get this chance to suggest that you get involved in this election and vote -- and hopefully that you vote for our father."MTV cameras showed some audience members apparently giving the women a standing ovation, but the mixture of boos and cheers continued.MTV's broadcast turned down sounds of the audience during the playing of the video, but the vocal audience could still be heard. The boos seemed to die down and cheers took their place toward the end of the segment, when the Kerry daughters took back the floor and encouraged people to support victims of Hurricane Charley, which devastated portions of Florida earlier this month.

1. Thanks for that
I only heard that Kerry's daughters were booed and I walked around all morning with a resentment. Screw CNN.

4. Lesson learned? DON'T EVER BELIEVE 2nd HAND CHARACTERIZATIONS
Edited on Mon Aug-30-04 01:16 PM by Feanorcurufinwe
We were all raised to believe that the 'news' would never consist of outright lies or government and corporate propaganda.

Can we finally come to the realization that that belief was naive and untrue?

Trust your eyes, not their lies!

Headline: " 'Tens of Thousands' protest Bush " (actual number almost one half million)

Headline: " Kerry addresses a rally of 'several thousand' supporters " (actual number approx 50 thousand)

2. The audience was just upset with MTV because MTV had
promised to actually show a music video, something rarely seen on MTV these days, but had reneged on the deal because viewers might just start wanting to see more of them. :)
