Cindy McCain's outfit worth estimated more than $300,000
A couple of days, and outfits, have come and gone since Cindy McCain popped her golden collar to the Republican National Convention on its opening night, but her look is still driving conversation.

Fashionistas, bloggers and at least one national magazine are trashing, loving and tallying the cost of the tailored knee-length Oscar de la Renta dress.

Vanity Fair magazine has estimated that the look, complete with a Chanel watch and a four-strand pearl necklace, set the potential first lady back about $300,000. Gossip blogger Perez Hilton has linked to the story, noting the estimated worth of McCain's outfit exceeded the cost of a house.

3. Yea, I saw the breakdown earlier today. The dress was $3,000,
shoes around $600, but the majority of the $$ was tied up in the 3 ct earrings, pearl necklace & watch. Hell, at $300,000 that's more than DOUBLE my house and car included!

9. Ugh...another hideous Oscar de la Renta creation...
Obviously she's been to a Chanel boutique before, but my God that de la Renta dress was just incredibly awful. A simple Chanel tweed suit would have been better received than that ugly mess.
