phone calls to go and vote
Is anybody tired of answering their phone and hear the message, please get out and vote. We are having our primary here, and I am going to vote a straight ticket against republican in November-no need to crap around with this little primary stuff.

1. I got a phone call from W today
urging me to send in my absentee ballot request. I have no idea how my same-gender partner and I got on that list! It was only a recording but I still found some enjoyment in hanging up on him. I did wait until close to the end, however, so that while he was wasting his time on me, he wasn't "talking" to someone who would vote for him.

2. Local Stuff Matters
Please, please vote tomorrow!

OK - so you don't care if it's Castor or Deutsch or Penelas, you'll vote any of them over the Republican.

But, tomorrow may be some of the local "non-partisan" races like County Commissioner and School Board. You have to do a little work to find out to which party the candidate belongs, but it is very important. Politicians often use these "non partisan" races to gain experience and name recognition to further their political careers. This is partially how the Christian Right took over our country, they got elected to school boards, etc. while Liberals weren't paying attention. On school boards they can also push for stuff like teaching abstinence only sex education and creationism as a competing theory to evolution in science class.

Plus, we have at least one State House race here in the Orlando area where there is no Republican, but one of the Democrats is a DINO!

For heavens sake, find out a little about the candidates and vote!
