Dan Rather: Protest not as big as they thought it would be
"...they were hoping for 500,000 they didn't get nearly that, more like 100,000 ....conservatives are still running the show here just as the most liberal parts of the Democratic party were in charge in Boston.....I was speaking to someone and he said here's a tip for you Dan, Mitt Romney has a surprise in store for you later this week....."

Dan Rather being interviewed on CBS-4 (Boston) news just now.

homosexual affair for ten years.

15. That's not true. Everyone knows
that Rather and Peter Jennings married in a private ceremony in South America back in the 80s. Or was that Brokaw...?

13. I don't get it either.
Rather was quizzing the local anchor here whether he knew what Romney may be talking about, they agreed to wait and see.

2. hmm, didn't the NY Times say it was 400,000?
But even if it was 100,000 that is still a pretty powerful number to protest a US president, but of course the media downplays it.

7. NYT, MSNBC, CNN all have it at 500,000 - number from both
organizers and anonymous police source after speaking with city hall. Dan, read the paper sometime.

5. 100,000 ?
Well that's still better than the "tens of thousands" I heard from CNN yesterday. Lazy media whores.

10. lOL he tells two lies about the numbers in one breath. . .
First, they expected 250,000 not 500,000.

Second, they got 400,000+, not 100,000.

Idiot.

14. I was there - 20 packed Manhattan blocks. 400,000 was a conservative
estimate by the UFPJ organizers. One "anonymous" policeman is quoted that he "thought" it was 120k and that is the number used... unless you are Fox or News Radio CBS who said "tens of thousands". Yeah, if its 20 to 50 tens of thousands. I'm disguested by how little we can obviously trust the media to report the facts.

They denied us access to Central Park because 1/4 million protestors would kill the Great Lawn now they purposefully diminish our numbers. They report/distort whatever they want to without any basis in fact.

16. If they had allowed a rally in Central Park
the number of protesters could have been confirmed, and that's why they didn't.
It was HUGE, and 4-to-500,000 is not an overestimate.
