Very simple - looking at a Gergen comment on the US becoming ungovernable because of the divide. The distinction has never been so sharp, that's for sure.

And a group of people who are fired up by watching 911 videos are pretty dysfunctional sick puppies who thrive on fear. These are people who have no appreciation for a true Democracy.

2. And they can't govern!
mclame and his wife both got huge applause for stating government should be smaller...

From an EXCELLENT article in 2006... http://www.alternet.org/story/37947/
Contemporary conservatism is first and foremost about shrinking the size and reach of the federal government. This mission, let us be clear, is an ideological one. It does not emerge out of an attempt to solve real-world problems, such as managing increasing deficits or finding revenue to pay for entitlements built into the structure of federal legislation. It stems, rather, from the libertarian conviction, repeated endlessly by George W. Bush, that the money government collects in order to carry out its business properly belongs to the people themselves. One thought, and one thought only, guided Bush and his Republican allies since they assumed power in the wake of Bush vs. Gore: taxes must be cut, and the more they are cut -- especially in ways benefiting the rich -- the better.

But like all politicians, conservatives, once in office, find themselves under constant pressure from constituents to use government to improve their lives. This puts conservatives in the awkward position of managing government agencies whose missions -- indeed, whose very existence -- they believe to be illegitimate.

3. I have subscribed to a very similar thought for years
Republicans have to be told what to think. Democrats are independent thinkers.

It is real easy to prove:
McCain introduces an unknown candidate for his running mate and immediately, the GOP fall in love. There was no questions floating at the RNC about discord over the nominee or his running mate. Even though they knew NOTHING about her they were 100% behind her. It was the party thing to do.

The long primary season for the Democrats proves we all think for our selves and make up our own minds. Going into the 3rd night of the convention there was still concern about Democrats coming together. We had to make up our minds that the primary season determined there was one candidate. Yet even today, there are people in the Democratic party who support another Democrat.

8. What do you expect from the zombie nation?
They have to be told what to do, think, and live. Hell I bet they had a time table at the RNC for people to use the crapper.

10. IMO most republicans worship "Authority Figures" like a traumatized kid continues to
adore the father that beats him to a bloody pulp. :wow:

In a Police State, many within the GOP would be the first in line to volunteer service to the SS.

?v=0

I saw today on the society page
Morning Edition is filled with everyone I hate
I drive an SUV but only to buy groceries
Dinner's $500 a plate

Talk about a Persian rug and a war on ghetto drugs
Our favorite Starbucks blend
Sleeping on the ground? Wait for it to trickle down.
So impressed you have a black friend

Her name was Ally, a pro-life rally in Wichita Falls
She's a preacher's daughter burns Harry Potter
When she agrees she calls
Rush Limbaugh
and says "mega-dittos"

Whispering "no gun control" as we gaze across the punch bowl
Why can't kids just say 'no'?
Then you impart, can't understand it, it can't be art
The Bible tells me so
