Bush pulling away while Kerry rests in Nantucket
I am sick - Kerry flails away being the Dukakis nice guy and the wooden Gore. Why the hell doesn't he at least try being a little stronger and fighting just a little bit - that's all I ask. Knowing the public that is spoon fed on reality TV and cop chase programs - a public that loves to view blood and gore - shouldn't Kerry at least throw a couple of punches while he is down?

This damn election will change the course of our country for the next 50 years!

peace of shite

1. Oh spare me your doom and gloom.
I am so fucking sick of armchair campaign managers telling Kerry how to run his god-damn campaign.

13. Given that Gore ACTUALLY WON....what's your problem?
But don't let that fact bother you!

18. what about the fact that Kerry is campaigning better than Gore
 yeah hes doing so awful, he made Virginia a battleground state, "candiate name here" would have put in dem hands for certain just because I say so.

5. preeeeeeeeeach it
and btw isnt it customary to sit out during the opposition's convention. I dunno honest to god but wasnt Gore behind at this point? and isnt John Kerry known as a great finisher, he'll probably start kicking big ass come September, many of the doom and gloom comes from people who were expecting a Kerry demise before Iowa.

6. Exactly...
Yet another world is coming to an end thread. Kerry was in Tacoma this past Saturday and it was quite nice. There were soo many people and so little space. Everyone walked away energized. Plus it's time for him to hang low at this moment while the RNC is going on.....

3. The SKY IS FALLING!!!!!
Kerry's doing great. Bush's dumb ass has no pre-convention bounce. The SBVT ads have backfired on the GOP full-fold. WTF do you want Kerry to do? Should he just officially challenge Bush to a duel? Would that satisfy the doomsayers?

12. I know
I'm so sick of threads like this. Kerry is taking a well-deserved break from the rigors of campaigning, and besides--he wouldn't get any news coverage during the Rethug Convention anyway.

7. You're right
I'm over reacting - I had delusions of another 4 years of bush and it impaired my thinking - I'll settle down - just give me a minute . . . .

The media ignore him, but he's pounding the pavement and getting the word out.

17. Just wait and see
what will happen after the RNC and Labor Day are over! That is traditionally when "people are paying attention" and the campaigns begin in earnest.

That Kerry is deadlocked with the incumbent at this point is really good news.

Remember a good majority of people are not political junkies as we are. They really are not paying attention yet. They will! And when that happens, John Kerry will turn on his prosecutor mode and go after it!

Also, don't forget the financial situation. Kerry has really needed to limit his spending for the last 5 weeks while he has waited for Bush to accept kicking in his public financing.

I didn't see anyone answer that question. I know it's customary not to campaign during the opponents convention but.....?????

21. I guess that depends
Edited on Mon Aug-30-04 05:57 PM by RummyTheDummy
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he should. But I think there's an argument to be made that in a year like this, it might be worth it. I'm not a sky is falling guy, but there is only a finite amount of time between now and election day. Every little bit counts.

23. Candidate lay low during the opposition's convention
That's the tradition, just as * did during the DLC. Actually, Kerry is breaking the tradition and will be campaigning later in the week.

24. Kerry should drop out and throw his support to Gephardt
or to Dean, or Clark, or someone who can win.

Edwards too. Don't these people know when to call it quits?
