RNC used stock photos of African American people on the Big Screen of Triumph
This was sent in by a reader: apparently, the Republicans couldn't find very many African American supporters to show on the Big Screen Of Triumph, when introducing McCain (see 6:45, 7:02)... so they simply put up stock photos of black people. You know, riding bicycles and appreciating their moms and stuff. Both these images appeared in McCain's introduction, but you can also buy them for a buck or two from iStockphoto.com:

2. Once again they didn't read the licensing agreement! I don't think you can use stock photography...
...for political advertising.

"Prohibited Uses...
use or display any Content that features a model or person in a manner that (i) would lead a reasonable person to think that such person uses or personally endorses any business, product, service, cause, association or other endeavour; or (ii) that depicts such person in a potentially sensitive subject matter, including, but not limited to mental and physical health issues, social issues, sexual or implied sexual activity or preferences, substance abuse, crime, physical or mental abuse or ailments, or any other subject matter that would be reasonably likely to be offensive or unflattering to any person reflected in the Content;"

I think these models or the photographer could argue that their depiction in the context of the RNC is personally unflattering and offensive and that it was wrongly used in the context of discussing "social issues."

6. Good point -- It's a clear usage violation...

Here's the main transgression I see: Showing "those people" to a crowd at a political rally behind the candidate *absolutely* suggests an endorsement of McCain and his ticket.

"Content that features a model or person in a manner that (i) would lead a reasonable person to think that such person uses or personally endorses any business, product, service, cause, association or other endeavour;"

Well, he's walked all over musicians' copyrights in his campaign... I guess he's just trying to be fair and balanced about choosing his victims.

8. The Republicans don't care. They'll buy off the lawsuit and it will never make the news.
We need to understand. The Republicans lie, cheat and steal because they can!

They use every trick in the book to win at any cost. They have no compunction. They have no ethics. No moral compass. They've dispensed with all those inconvenient things. Their consciences don't bother them because they have none.

Republicans care only about money and power. They use money and power to build more money and power. They manipulate people using very sophisticated psychological and marketing techniques.

Democrats are hampered in so many ways because we are fundamentally decent, thoughtful, ethical people.
