1. Awww, I missed it! Howard seems to be doing really well lately!

I think it's all the exposure and beatings that have him a tough hide that wasn't there in the primaries. He'll be back in national politics...you'll see.

5. He actually did a takeoff on his Iowa "scream" speech...

You know, "We're gonna go to Dallas, and Kansas City, and Minneapolis, and..." (naming football teams' home cities) He ended with, "... and then we're going to D.C.!!!", and winked! (closeup camera shot at that point) It was pretty funny.

10. Out of curiosity...

is it well known on these boards that the whole Howard Dean scream was a gross fabrication, because the media took out all the background noise and only took the sound out of his microphone? When it was live, he was shouting over a cheering crowd and the clip sounds normal, but take out the background noise and it seems like he's just going crazy.

I suspect that it's common knowledge here, but I hadn't found DU yet back then, so I only learned about the fabrication recently (when it was discussed on Air America).

I wasn't a Dean person, but I was absolutely appalled at what the media (and some DUers :-( ) did to him. For me, that speech seemed totally cool -- like a coach giving a rousing pep talk to his team at halftime.

I'm gonna have to tune in for next Monday night's football game to see if they repeat Dean's intro -- it was far out!
