Edwards Spotlights Clear Choice on Economy in West Virginia

As the Republicans spend day two of their convention talking about "compassionate conservatism" on Tuesday August 31, 2004, John Edwards will emphasize that you cannot wipe away four years of divisive politics with one night of compassion. Edwards will highlight what the Republicans won't: the Bush-Cheney record is four years of undermining the middle class with fewer jobs, smaller paychecks, and higher costs for health care and prescription drugs. Edwards will travel to Beckley, West Virginia to talk directly to families who are struggling to make ends meet under the Bush economy and to highlight the fundamental choice at stake when it comes to strengthening the economy and creating jobs: four more years of an administration that has turned its back on middle class families or the Kerry-Edwards economic plan which will make us stronger at home by putting middle-class families first.

Elizabeth Edwards Travels to Nevada to Talk to Voters Tuesday

Elizabeth Edwards, wife of Democratic candidate for Vice President John Edwards, will travel to Nevada on Tuesday to speak to voters in Reno and Las Vegas about the Kerry-Edwards plan to make American stronger at home and respected in the world.

In Reno, Mrs. Edwards will hold a Town Hall Meeting at the Jot Travis Student Union at the University of Nevada, Reno. There, she will discuss education and take questions from participants. In the afternoon, Mrs. Edwards will hold a living room discussion with military families on the issues affecting military families and veterans benefits and answer their questions about the Kerry- Edwards plan.
