Is Matt Lauer going to cover for George W Bush and his surrogates ?
Or did they show the entire interview with Lauer on the tube? If not, only Lauer would know if they took Bush's comment out of context, about not winning the war on terrorism, as Dan Bartlett and others have said. We need to know if it was taken out of context. Were they specifically talking about conventional wars as opposed to this war on terrorism when Bush said we cannot win the war on terrorism?? We cannot wait for the media to do this for us. We have to pursue it ourselves. We have to put pressure on MSNBC and Matt Lauer to find out what the facts are in this matter. If his surrogates are lying, then we have no choice but to pursue this matter til we find out what George W Bush's real position is on the war on terror...

1. Bush's pont was that there will always be terrorism.
It was one of the more intelligent things he's said in the past four years.

2. So was it taken out of context as his spokesman said ?
If he was telling the truth, why would they have to cover for him? Why did they not say that he was being honest??

5. It wasn't taken out of context, but maybe his advisors think
Americans can't handle the truth, that there will always be terrorism.

There is also a Bush flip-flop issue illustrated near the top of Daily Kos:
