Post RNC convention
The gloves are off and the Pubs are ready to batter Kerry throughout the convention. Whoever said that the Pubs were going to be kinder and gentler needs to check her wallet. They're out for blood.

If the Kerry Campaign really want to win they'd have done what the networks do when faced with a tough program on a competing channel: counter program. Don't let the RNC be the ONLY story for the media to cover this week. Create an event. Pull a rabbit out of a hat. Gin up a controversy via some 527. Whatever. Just DO IT.

Windsurfing on a ritzy, exclusive island doesn't do it AT ALL! Why not have Kerry meet with 9/11 families or sympathetic survivors of Iraq casualties?

Post-RNC look for multiple lasers trained on Kerry's senate record. It's going to be a blizzard of disinformation.

Somebody please give a heads-up to the Kerry Campaign: wake up and start vetting the his record. Anticipate attacks and half-truths. Use lots of imagination and pretend to be Rove (ewwwwww!). Prepare talking points and counter-talking points.

And, for Pete's Sake, train up some junkyard-mean attack dog surrogates. Arm them with attack points and coordinate a topical attack every single day.

Just like the SBVT, you don't have to Karnak the Magnificent to see the train coming down the tracks.

1. Here's a line for Rudy . . .
Had W finished My Pet Goat when Rudy said, "Thank God George Bush is our President"?

2. kerry could run naked down the street, the media would still ignore him
I'm ignoring the media, and we need to stop hoping for their attention.

we should act like they don't exist, like it's the 1800's and we have to get the word out without their 24-hour networks.

of course we use the internet to it's fullest, but forget about the media and their polls.

4. No can do. It's the 21st Century.
Media savvy folks CAN draw media attention.

The media loves conflict or the appearance of conflict.

Drop Kerry into a 9/11 family meeting in NYC and see how much buzz it creates. Let Edwards tour the WTC site or a NYC-area plant that's shutting down to go overseas...

The media will eat it up with a spoon--- 'specially if Edwards starts lampooning Bush/Cheney.

3. Kerry will speak at the American Legion Convention this week...

Though I, too, would like to see him do a couple more events.

Actually, now would be a good time for the campaign to film a few more hard-hitting commercials. Preferrably "testimonial" ones with people who voted for Dub in 2000 (like the MoveON ads) but feel let down by him, and intend to vote for Kerry this year. Now, THAT would be a great way to prepare to hit back!:D

B-)

6. This would be the best possible kind of ad. Really. Aren't there
ads being played or in the pipeline, like this? I thought I heard there were.

5. This convention has a shitty nasty tone and feel
My sense is that this will be picked up by the press too. Too much Kerry bashing, 9/11 and "pass the lord & praise the ammunition" for anybodies taste.

7. The Purple Heart Band Aids pretty much sums up the "classiness"
of the Republican party.

8. Poking fun at one purple heart is poking fun at them all
They were all processed using the same procedures, methods and requirements. It is a huge insult by these asses.
