Here's what would happen if we were Republicans...

Since tonight's RNC speakers were not on national TV we would know that nobody saw this shit, and tomorrow we would just say whatever we felt like. All of our many radio networks would spend tomorrow describing tonight as a hate-fest, and how Giuliani just stood there laughing like a maniac, mocking the 9/11 dead. And how Ron Silver had some sort of nervous break-down on air, doing some insane self-hating Jew Hitler impression, and had to be led off stage. And how John McCain cut Bush's throat by endorsing Kerry's foreign policy. And how some crazy old bat from Kansas threw her urine on Academy Award winner and universally respected figure Michael Moore. And how Bush went ape-shit because Kit Bond deviated from his text and said we're taking Iraq back from the coloreds.

And, of course, that Dick Cheney was unable to rise from his chair during a standing ovation because of his heart.

We don't have the radio stations, unfortunately. But we are still able to have hushed but plainly audible discussions with each other everywhere we go about what transpired.

And we should.
