The GOP doesn't reflect America
Michael Moore, Filmmaker
NEW YORK — Welcome, Republicans. You're proud Americans who love your country. In your own way, you want to make this country a better place. Whatever our differences, you should be commended for that.
But what's all this talk about New York being enemy territory? Nothing could be further from the truth. We New Yorkers love Republicans. We have a Republican mayor and governor, a death penalty and two nuclear plants within 30 miles of the city.

New York is home to Fox News Channel. The top right-wing talk shows emanate from here — Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly among them. The Wall Street Journal is based here, which means your favorite street is here. Not to mention more Fortune 500 executives than anywhere else.

4. God bless MM
I just saw him interviewed on MSNBC and he thanked the Republicans for all of the free advertising for Farenheit... even if they haven't (obviously, John McCain) seen it.

6. Wow ....he is really good....he compliments them but leads
them.....this man knows how to use words....

I could not have been as objective or nice....but my anger at rethugs is not serving me....so this might be a good person to look up to and follow on tolerance....

8. Very good article
Sort of takes a shot at repubs who don't really think for themselves and are under the illusion that the the repugs won't take their money. This is almost the same thing as a chapter from his last book.

9. I think Moore is right about a lot of "Republicans"
They are essentially liberal socially, but for them it all comes down to their wallet. Even middle and working class Republicans are under this illusion. They just think the Dems are going to tax them to death so they'll vote for the guys who say they'll cut taxes not realizing that they'll also cut their throats as far as social welfare programs go.

"Welcome, Republicans. You're proud Americans who love your country."

is certainly a more rational opening than Ann Coulter's first USA Today article from the Dem Convention (which got her canned):

"Here at the Spawn of Satan convention in Boston, conservatives are deploying a series of covert signals to identify one another, much like gay men do."

edit to fix a typo
