'Thank God George Bush is Our President!'
When Rudy said that last night, I almost hurled right there (he recalled the story of him telling that to Bernard Kerik shortly after 9/11)...how can this prick stand there, and tell me, the rest of the New Yorkers, and the rest of US that we should be thankful that the morAn from Texas is our President...when this bastard stood on the rubble of WTC, and promised he'll catch Bin Laden 'Dead or Alive!', and completely forgot about him.....Rudy might need a reality check, the Republican party ain't going to support you in 2008, especially the far-right...you like gays and women, that's way too much for them to handle!

2. Yeah Bush showed great leadership
he went into hiding for 3 days while Guliani at least stood up there like a man when New York was under siege.

Then Bush went in came to New York - on a publicity stunt. Make sure the cameras are rolling when Bush comes to town.

14. Thank God we had a president who refused to read the Hart-Rudman report.
Thank God our president didn't read the Hart-Rudman report and implement it before 9-11, or I wouldn't be so famous right now. Rudy Giuliani

3. Rudy Patoooti is trying to endear himself to the fundies
This "divine" comment coupled with his announcement that we should (actually) be concerned about genocide in the Sudan BECAUSE they are Christians being slaughtered. Punk is posturing for 2008.

8. WHY the F**k Would He EVEN Think that?
I never once thought that. One would think with all hell breaking loose that he would have OTHER things on his mind. This is an absolute bullshit story folks. I saw the replay snippet this morning on the news. Funny, how when Rudy said that, the camera panned right to the fire commssioner mentioned and he was shaking his head in agreement. The bushistas jumped on the Kerry girls' story regarding their hamster. Maybe THIS "story" should be debunked.

10. This is the myth the repugs suscribe to.
They desparetely need to believe in the mythic figure of the decisive leader.
If the chimp is lacking in these qualities, then they will dress the Chimp in the mantle of a leader and worship him symbolically.

Its all very juvinelie. They should know better.

why are so many supposedly intelligent adults falling for all this badly acted dramatic fanfare going on right now?

I honestly do not understand it...

17. See Triumph of the Will
Edited on Tue Aug-31-04 08:16 AM by amber dog democrat
Its just fanfare to bolster the party faithful. Not quite as scarey as the Nuremberg Party rallies of 1934. But its serving the perpetuation of the myth for political gain.
There is nothing to understand with respect to dogmatized sheeple.

13. I agree..
This is a bullshit story. I was thinking the same this morning. Why would he say that? It makes no sense to make that comment without knowledge of how Bush would react in that situation. Bush had done nothing prior to 9-11 to show this type of behavior.

Disgusting, but I hope they continue down this path. If 9-11 is the only thing Bush has to run on during this convention, then it will show how much he hasn't done during the rest of his Presidency.

16. This is congative dissonance in action
Its got nothing to do with reality. Again its servicing the MYTH. The other thing to consider is how very big and powerful this bandwagon is.

" .. and did they tell you the name of the game, boy? We call it riding the gravey
train...."

By exploiting the 9/11 tradgey, there is much to be gained in a appeal to authority.
Many of the American Sheeple won't ask questions and prefer having their opinions handed to them. Its almost like that false community referred to in Herman Hesse's
DAMIEN.

Not a whole lot of honesty here. No time for honesty - when lies reap such big rewards.

15. "'Thank God George Bush is Our President!"
Is just a shorthand slam on Al Gore.

Like Gore wouldn't have defended the country after that attack. Or maybe we need Bush to lead a prayer.

True, Gore might have gone into Tora Bora with a higher priority than Baghdad. So things would have been different.

18. Why does everyone want us to worship at Guiliani's feet?
If you believe the media, you'd think that all New Yorkers follow Rudy around kissing the ground he just walked on. Everytime I see his face in the paper with the caption "America's Mayor," I want to :puke:
