Posting Poll Results
I think long time posters deserve to post polls without getting harangued as concern trolls... I see a long time poster just posted a poll and got lambasted because folks didn't like the results...

There are lots of polls out there... Being Cassandras or Pollyannas is not helpful...

The results are what they are...

PEACE

DSB

3. The longest-time DUers have a history with the negative poll posts...
.. to see the trend, every time we get near an election. I guarantee you, HALF of the breathless posts about negative polls, are coming from trolls (regardless of their post count.)

A long-time poster usually gets a pass on posting negative polls.. but did you ever notice, if you've been here a while, that the poll threads seem to multiple like bunnies when the numbers are negative??

Most polls are skewed in so many ways.. and administered by republican PR firms, so most people are just burned out on the sudden proliferation of negative polls postings here. It is sad when a long timer gets hammered like that.. but we're all just damn tired of the Chicken Little posts lately.

peace,

5. The Race Looks Close
I am not as cyncical as some folks here...If a poll is way off I will attribute it to poor design or statistical error before I will attribute to an attempt to manipulate the electorate...

As for posting polls, yeah, they are some pin heads who delight in posting negative news... Maybe they are doing it to demoralize us or maybe they are just Cassandras...

10. It's A Push With A Slight Edge To Either McCane Or Obama In Most Of The Most Recent Polls I've Seen
Gallup is way out there...

Now, I'm not going to slam a poll because I don't like the results but I have to say Gallup is always erratic...

I remember their tracking poll in 00...It had Bush* with a 52-39 lead in October!...Gore went on to win the pop vote...(Intuitively) the 52-39 result didn't feel right and I don't think Gore closed a thirteen point gap in a month or so...I don't think he was ever that far behind...

The BAD think is Gallup's brand name is so strong it drives news coverage...Hell, Dr. Gallup is dead and that business was sold twenty years ago...

8. 74% Chance of Victory Not Enough!
election08.cs.uiuc.edu has Obama at 74% of winning - which is good, but not good enough! Not to be alarmist, but earlier this week he was at 97% probability. We need to keep things moving! I for one can't sleep at night with a 26% chance of McCain in the White House.

9. AMEN!
I got threatened with pizza the other day for posting the Gallup tracking poll and saying I was disappointed by the results. It's getting a little out of hand.

11. We Need To Use Discretion
I see somebody with 37 posts and no profile has glefully posted a negative poll...He, she, or it isn't fooling me...

The Gallup Poll shook me but all the other polls are showing a close race...
