the man behind the purpLe heart band aids

Professionally, Morton Blackwell is the president of the Leadership Institute, a non-partisan educational foundation he founded in 1979.

His institute prepares conservatives for success in politics, government and the news media.

He is on record defending how chickenhawk Armey "BLED" while shamefully mocking the wounds of a real war hero.

"I really hope we re-elect Dick Armey. He has bled for many things that are important to me and my organization..."

Why isn't he asking "how many ounces?" That's what seems to matter to these pigs. Let's get all veterans together and make sure all the ones with Purple Hearts bled a proper number of ounces.

7. cuLtist
"Morton Blackwell works with Plinio de Correa de Olivier's Tradition, Family & Property and endorsed Olivier's book, Nobility & Analagous Traditional Elites, on the necessity of restoring traditional Nobility & Elites to rule the world. In the Forward Blackwell wrote: 'One does not have to accept Papal infallibility to appreciate a case persuasively made, using theological, moral, and prudential arguments. This book will convince many readers, whatever their faith, that good elites are legitimate, desirable and, yes, necessary.' The Secret Story of a Cult Apologist features a picture of Paul Weyrich and Morton Blackwell with the American head of TFP, which is the parent organization of CESNUR, the cult apology network for cults such as Scientology."

Recall the "outrage" over the Paul Wellstone memorial. The lazy ass media didn't even bother to fact check before making claims that Republican "speakers" were booed. HINT: There were no Republican speakers at the memorial.

18. he's connected to the fLorida purging in 2000
The list of disenfranchised voters was from a "scrub list" originally initiated through a joint project between the Voting Integrity Project (VIP) and DBT Online. According to a VIP press release lauding their nationwide "Voter Scrub" project, small population counties across the United States "will be able to scrub their voter rolls free of charge through an alliance between the Voting Integrity Project and DBT Online," provided they meet the requirements (ie. poor counties).

snip

VIP's founder is Helen R. Blackwell of Arlington, Va. Her husband is former Reagan assistant Morton Blackwell, the executive director of the arch-conservative Council for National Policy, which features Oliver North and Ralph Reed as members, according to Joel Kaplan, a Syracuse University journalism professor investigating the group.

came up with this repugnant idea.

We've got multiple threads running in different forums on Blackwell, but as long everyone becomes well-informed on his extreme right-wing background, fine.

44. I just let the SOB have it!
Here's what I sent him:

< How dare you disrespect every American Veteran ever wounded in combat with your disgraceful behavior at the RNC? Distributing the "Purple Heart Band-Aids" only shows the kind of dispicable wretch you are. The number of "people" that grabbed them up and stuck them on themselves only serves to illustrate the kind of scum your entire party is made of.

Did you ever stop for ONE MINUTE to think about how your actions would affect every combat vet that would see these abominations? Of course you didn't. All that is important to you and your kind is what you think will further your agenda at any cost. The men that earned actually earned Purple Hearts, including my Father, who earned two in Korea are obviously of little or no consequence in the self-centered world of Republican politics. I am doubly sure someone such as yourself who has never served a day in the military has no idea of the cost paid by those you dare to disrespect in this manner.

It is very true we enjoy free speech in this country, your bunch of cretins exercised their freedom at the convention by wearing the disgraceful badge you devised, now I'm exercising my freedom of speech by pointing out the fact that you sir, are a DISGRACEFUL, SELFISH COWARD!!!!!

So go on now and keep on saying anything you damn well please, the Marines,Soldiers,Sailors and Airmen paid the cost for you to do so, but after this, don't be surprised if nobody believes you when you claim to be either an American or a Patriot.

Sincerely,
