Palin will try to make energy knowledge into foreign policy expertise

Just a "heads up" for the debates, that I drew from what seems like some good information on page 5 of this recent Newsweek article.

http://www.newsweek.com/id/157696/page/5

Also that she's weakest on healthcare policy. Additionally...

In the battle with Obama and Joe Biden, the McCain campaign will emphasize Palin's executive responsibilities, her judgment, her instincts, her reformist credentials and her fighting spirit. Aides might encourage her to take the lead on energy issues, emphasizing one policy area she's very familiar with. They'll also play up her small-town roots, trying to draw comparisons to Harry Truman. Palin herself made two references to Truman in her nomination speech... (except that) Truman served for 10 years in Congress before becoming vice president.

Forewarned is forearmed. Biden should be packing some good examples to rip down every one of those "covers". Divert her off of energy where she's more comfortable. One hole I'd suggest exposing too, is the widespread assumption that just because oil is drilled from the US, it goes to our market. It doesn't. It goes on the global market to wherever... China, whoever pays the most. Or maybe she'd like to nationalize the oil industry? Not a bad idea, then.

Forcing her into facts will ruin her. Or catching her on them.

1. I think the "small town roots" angle will wear thin in a hurry
Is she somehow unique because she's from a small town? I guess it's supposed to imply that she's somehow more pure, more innocent, untainted by the evil, liberal ways of the big city. Hopefully enough people will see this for the divisive political tactic it is.
