Let's talk about Hillary for a moment...
Edited on Wed Sep-10-08 08:57 AM by monmouth
First, let me preface before I'm flamed I was not an HRC supporter, I just did not think she was right for the job. Having said that, I think she has joined the team in a most "uniter" way and am very proud of what she is doing for the Obama campaign and what she has accomplished in her own right. I did send her a note snail mail with a check to help pay down her campaign debt and did receive a lovely thank you note, laser-signed by her via snail mail. Okay...

I notice many pleas for Hillary to smack down Palin. To be honest, and I hope I sound like a liberal snob here, but Palin is way beneath Hillary's pay grade. In her speeches she has alluded very lightly and smartly to Palin. When it gets to down and dirty let the 527s do their job and leave our principal people to do what they do, talk about issues and hammer home the inadequacies of McCain/Palin in general. Like any good manager in a corporation, you are fully locked and loaded for a project to be unveiled. Timing is important for these unveilings and all good managers wait until the powers that be give the "Go" to assault. Don't doubt for a moment Senator Clinton is not locked and loaded. She is not feint of heart, nor is she light in intelligence. This is only September 10, the days leading right up to the election will be the crucial days. Our Hillary will then unlock and unload when the timing is right. She wants this as much if not more than any of us. Do not underestimate what is going to come from Hillary in the near future.

It's all good, Palin will be no more than a feverish dream that was cured by a good antibiotic.

2. If Hillary engages Palin Obama and McCain might as well drop out.
Edited on Wed Sep-10-08 08:52 AM by Kurt_and_Hunter
It would dominate the headlines every day until the election. Hill and Palin are the two biggest media obssessions I've ever seen.

Everyone has been wise to avoid it. It would lead to complete loss of message control.

And it would look like Obama was getting his mom to fight his battles for him.

I agree with you 100%. It's tempting, but not good politics.

6. This is a good post
I totally agree with you on Hillary and also think we will all be surprised in a couple of weeks when Bill hits the campaign trail. The Clinton's love this country too much not to become involved in probably the most important election in our lifetime.

14. Not to mention their love of the Democratic party
It's very, very important to remember that this is Democrat v. Republican and the Republicans have been screwing it up since Reagan.

7. Thanks For This Great Post
Hillary Clinton barely mentioning Sarah Palin re-inforces the truth: Palin is no way, shape, or form, remotely near her equal.

8. I agree with you on Hillary's response to Palin. Not only is she handling it correctly,
I'm sure she is handling it the way Obama's campaign wants her to do. She has been an asset to Obama since the end of the primary season and I'm sure that he will benefit from the appearances that she and Bill make between now and the election.

9. As a newbie, the only part of your post I find unpleasant....
Is that I can get flamed on DU because I wanted Clinton to be the nominee instead of Obama.
I loved her and I wish she had won and I voted for her.
But she didn't, and as I've said in an earlier post, I quickly woke up and I'm 100% behind Obama.
Nobody should get flamed on here for thinking Hillary is great.
She is not about to cede her position as the Grand Dame of American politics to Palin -- I'm no mindreader, but I'm sure the idea of that smarts a lot more than her losing the primary to Obama....
Sorry, if this seems rude or snarky, but the first sentence just got to me a little -- if our heads are on straight, we are all on the same team at this point.

11. Being flamed is only a problem if you're soft like a marshmallow
Hillary supporters are nowhere near that soft :D

Good post, rvablue, succinct and thoughtful. Welcome to DU :hi:

12. Disagree wholeheartedly. We are on the same side
even when we disagree strongly about the primary.

The fact that the OP knew already to avoid the swamp of the primary was good form.

Welcome to DU

13. I hope you don't get flamed
but there are some and let me underscore "some" Obama supporters that keep a close watch on all Hillary supporters. You almost have to put in a signature line that says, "I was a Hillary supporter but now I support Obama." There seem to be quite a few bullies left over from the primaries. But I also must say that for the most part Democrats on DU are pretty cool people.

Welcome to DU. :)

looks like the idiot she is.
