Am I the only one who thinks Fahrenheit 9/11 came out too soon?
I put this in the Campaign board because the movie is a HUGE part of this election. I understand that by releasing the movie when they did, they could put in out on DVD before the election, but after watching the news this week I think it may have made more sense to release it in theaters during the GOP convention, to counter the blow-job the press is giving Bush.

I think Moore overestimated the attention span of the American public. Yes, the movie had people's attention for a while, and people even seemed to be rethinking their views on the issues presented in the film. But summer movies are only meant to have a shelf-life of a couple weeks, and I don't think F9/11 is that different. It served it's purpose for the studio, and that was that. Maybe I've just been overly discouraged by the Circle Jerk in NYC this week, but I think Michael Moore may have dropped the ball a little bit.

1. The media can only cover so many stories at once.
If you want the most coverage, you time your event to happen when it will be the biggest story by far.

5. F9-11 is coming out again on DVD in Beginning of October
This is where we need to show F9-11 at work, to neighbors, relatives and even in churchs.

3. I'm happy to be able to send a video copy to my parents & brother
in early October.

They would never go to a theater to see it, even if it played in one near them. They would, however, watch it on their own televisions.

6. it got better coverage
by coming out earlier. It also creates a mindset that is hostile to the bush agenda. A movie can only do so much, but by coming out earlier it plants the seeds of distrust allowing it to serve as the proverbial grain of salt.
