Would ANY Of You Be Surprised?

Its Wednesday Night at the GOP convention. Things are progressing swimingly. Speakers are taking the podium and the crowd is all fired up.

Suddenly, the sound system cuts out and the lights go down. The cheering lapdogs quiet down to an instant murmer. Suddenly an unknown campaign worker takes the podium and with the lights still blackened, makes his announcement.

"Ladies and Gentlemen. We must interrupt our convention due to some breaking news. Give us a minute to get the feed working."

About 30 seconds go by and the jumbotron fires up. There, on the huge screen is Brit Humme with a Fox Newsflash. People can be seen behind him scrambling with paperwork in hands and monitors are flashing wildly.

Then the announcement:

"We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming for a Fox News Alert. Fox News has been informed by top level officials that Osama Bin Laden has been captured alive on the Pakistani border. This has been confirmed by Pakistani Intelligence although we have no furthing information at this time. When contacted, the White House said that President Bush will use the time during his prime time convention speech tomorrow night to 'officially' announce that the war on terrorism has been won. We, of course will carry the President's entire speech live and we are sure the entire world will do the same. This is a coincidence that could not have come at a better time for our nation and the free world.

Coming up next on Fox News, we will examine whether John Kerry will immediately withdraw from the race and declare Bush Emporer."

1. It wouldn't surprise me; although I wonder if it would work.

I mean it is a little too convenient isn't it?

Oh, and they won't declare the war over. Instead they will say something like "Although Osama Bin Ladin is in custody his henchmen are still out there plotting to attack you and your kiddies at any moment; only the brave leadership of President Bush can protect you."
