MBE Poll: McCain Has Small Lead Over Obama in West Virginia, 44%-39%
A new poll from Mark Blankenship Enterprises shows McCain with only a five point post-convention lead over Obama in West Virginia,
44% to 39% with another 17% still undecided.

3. Hmmm. Surprisingly close.
Is this one weird-ass race or what?

4. Good news, maybe
We were told that the O-man had no chance in WVA. It's still a reach, but maybe do-able, unless a lot of those poll respondents for Obama are "Bradley Effect" voters.

6. I thought he had a chance there from the start
But only when Obama opened up the lead I expected. So this is better than I thought.

5. That's because
us West Virginians can't decide which we hate more, a black president or a woman VP. Trust me, the majority of people in this state are screwed up. No offense to those who aren't.

7. Wow...how ironic that WV is that close, given
the way Obama got blown out of WV during the primaries. Go figure. But it's encouraging.

9. When your campaign has over a dozen campaign offices in such a small state
you make it competitive.

The Obama camp didn't put those campaign field offices there for nothing - they were bypassing the primary for them to concentrate on the general election GOTV.
