Aren't Purple Hearts awarded to soldiers wounded or KILLED in combat?
"...a. The Purple Heart is awarded in the name of the President of the United States to any member of an Armed Force or any civilian national of the United States who, while serving under competent authority in any capacity with one of the U.S. Armed Services after 5 April 1917, has been wounded or killed, or who has died or may hereafter die after being wounded."

And if this is correct, aren't the Republicans mocking the DEAD SOLDIERS BROUGHT HOME IN FLAG-DRAPED COFFINS?

I guess it isn't enough that they use ordinary people as cannon fodder, they have to get sadistic pleasure from their deaths and injuries.

1. when not ignoring them, they mock them
soon, they'll deny them, like they did after the Gulf War. Remember the denials of Gulf War Syndrome. I'm sure there's something heinous still in store for our most recent vets and I'm sure the Republicans will do everything they can to avoid taking financial or moral responsibility for it.
