2. And Palin is the lipstick!!! Brilliant and TRUE.
Of course Obama referred to McCain's policies, but on Letterman, when asked, Obama said that if he had wanted to refer to Palin with the phrase, she'd have been the lipstick and McCain would be the pig!!!

Love it!

6. Yes, McCain and his policies and his whole campaign.
The whole McCain mess, person and politics, was a mess, a pig, and they tried to put lipstick on it (Palin).

Interestingly, much of American seems to be buying it.

3. Tweety just read a transcript of Obama on Letterman (airing
tonight) and that's exactly what O said - technically, the metaphor means Palin is the lipstick and the policies are the pig.

8. Even if he was calling her a pig
Seriously, if he straight up said "Sarah Palin is a pig" that is not sexist. It is an insult but not a sexist insult, it has the same meaning regardless of the sex of the target.

10. They can't debate on the issues, so they have to create outrage about something else.
They desperately want to hold onto that slight convention bounce, because they know the momentum is about to dry up.

9. Didn't McCain say the same thing about Hillary? When talking about her healthcare plan?
When they cry sexist, we should throw that at them.

11. Believe it or not, MSNBC did that several times today - they
showed the clip of McCain using the phrase about the HRC healthcare plan AND one of McCain's daughter saying that her father uses the phrase.

12. The McCain campaign is getting desperate--good for MSNBC for showing hypocrisy.
