Weird David Brooks comment last night......
During the Brooks/Shields portion last night, Brooks agreed that the huge demonstration was surprisingly peaceful - "found myself in the middle of it for an hour and was surprised no one threw a punch at me"...THEN stated that the protest was made up of mostly radical groups, and then stated that the protestors had no party to represent them....WHERE DO THEY GET THIS GUY? He missed the larger - largest - point - this incredibly huge, incredibly diverse group of PATRIOTS grouped together united in asserting the complete failure of our president!!!

1. Brooks is a propaganda expert not a journalist
He misses points on purpose.

2. It's because they're not violent, hate-filled intolerant thugs
Some people have no capacity to see things except through their own biases. Conservatives always puzzle over why a rich person would want an equitable society; it's a daily occurance when economics are broached on talk shows. Selfishness is a restricting worldview, and it renders people incapable of understanding what's going on around them.

Could you imagine a leftist keying someone's car for having a Bush bumper sticker on it? Would you have any surprise at a reactionary doing it to a Kerry supporter's car?

Hmmmmmmmm.
Anti-war protestors, radicals.
He might have a point you know, if he's locked into thinking of a two-party system.

4. he's still hurting b/c Kerry dismissed his Red State/Blue State notion
on Primetime during his acceptance speech at the other NATIONAL convention--you know--the inclusive one.
