Electoral-Vote.com- Bush 280 Kerry 242 COMPLETE BS
You know, after last night's performance, it would seem to me that our friends are trying to push forth the meme that they are invincible and that we should just submit and embrace the inevitable.

The blatant Militarism theme and the exploiting of the 3000 Americans who died on 9/11, The Purple Heart Bandages, the disgraceful performances of John McCain and Rudy Ghouliani.

Bush admitting yesterday that this war on an idea will last forever and cannot be won, and then today says "Oh wait, that's not what I meant. We will Win. GO USA! GO TEAM!"

Every day we are subjected to more and more evidence that these people simply want to end the Democratic Process in this country.

And yet we are to believe that the American People are behind this and Bush is GROWING in popularity?

That Ameircan's are so concerned that their leader look like some drunken Frat Boy Bad-Ass who "Don't Take No Shit From Nobody" that they are willing to become a fascist country to keep this image?

That Americans WANT forever war and the status quo not only to remain, but to go so far to the right that NOTHING will ever be "right" again?

We are being told to beleive that not only do Americans WANT this, but a GROWING NUMBER are getting on Board?

Don't believe it, Not for a SECOND.

This is the most Orwellian, Down The Rabbit-Hole, Through The Looking Glass Time we have ever lived through in this country.

But don't ANY of you believe that this is waht your country REALLY wants.

The Fledgling Fascists at the convention last night sent us all a message.

This is the way things are. This is the way things are going to be. We will do whatever we want, whenever we want, however we want, and SCREW what the rest of you and the World think. Submit or Get Out Of The Way.

Here is my response.

NO.

Your time is up. You do not stand for ANYTHING this country is about. You DO NOT BELONG HERE. You've had your 15 minutes of Apocalypse. Your Time Is UP.

Like I said last night, Easy or Hard, you people WILL Leave.

You will Not Bully us into believing you won't.

4. Check Again or Refresh your Cache.
You aren't getting an updated version of the Page.

I checked it half an hour ago and it said Kerry- 242 Bush- 280.

I just checked again. Same thing.

But like I said, this is TOTAL BS.

Support for these idiots has been dropping like a ROCK.

There is simply no way this Cabal Of Thugs could be GAINING in Popularity.

11. Absolutely right.
I have no idea why this guy (a Kerry supporter) does not at least identify Strategic Vision as a GOP polling operation (another website that runs electoral vote totals puts GOP next to their name). The PA, Iowa, MN, WI, and Ohio polls are all from this operation. I've posted this before--all polls are not equal. Just look at the idiotic poll he had up about California for about two weeks. Just because something is the most recent doesn't make it the best or accurate reflection of what is going on. I don't like that site.

Just checked--
I guess he is going to start marking R next to Strategic Vision--

and from his site, this note:

"However, it is worth noting that pollsters aren't always neutral and within the law always do what the client asks for. Strategic Vision normally works only for Republicans and results like these that contradict results from other pollsters in so many states do raise some eyebrows. The polls were completed before the GOP convention opened, so that cannot explain it, but we might be seeing the effect of the swift boat ads."

A note about Strategic Vision: Clients include Sam Brownback and Larry Klayman. plus some races for School Board!!

The head is David Johnson, a repub strategist.

And for real analysis of the Swift Boat ads and where the polls stand, go to donkey rising. The electoral-vote guy has no idea what he's talking about--nothing to support his idea that there was the SBL ads had an effect--he's just recycling conventional wisdom from the media and "democratic" strategists who have nothing to do (but wish they did) with the campaign. In other words, he's blowing smoke out his ass.

Donkey rising is great today:

August 30, 2004

The Race at the Start of the Republican Convention
The Myth: The SBVT controversy seriously harmed the Kerry campaign. Bush comes into his convention in much better political shape than he has been for quite a while.

The Reality: The race has changed little since the start of the SBVT controversy. Bush enters his convention with basically the same political vulnerabilities he had previously.

Sorry to go on so long, but that electoral-vote.com site is crap--and there are a lot other, much better places to get information.

8. Look fellow DU'ers
I love you all but electoral-vote.com is a stupid site, and it's time we stopped looking to it for guidance. They use every poll out there no matter who does it. They regularly use Zogby interactive polls, which are completely worthless and unscientific. They also rely heavily on Strategic Vision, which is a Repug polling outfit. Currently they have Pennsylvania going to Bush, while almost every other poll has it going to Kerry handily. Don't waste your time fretting or celebrating what is posted on this site, whether it shows Kerry way ahead or behind. It ain't worth getting worked up over.

The fact that they rely that much on Strategic Vision Polling is eonough to make me not visit the Site ever again.

The best thing for ALL of us to do is STOP PAYING ATTENTION to the Orwellian Vehicles they are using to intimidate us into beleiving they are this "inevitable juggernaut" who will win by default.

There is NOTHING that could be further from the truth, and the closer we get to their end, the more desperate and outrageous they will get.

Listen to your heart. Listen to your head. Listen to your surroundings and your environment. Listen to your OWN OBSERVATIONS and come to your own conclusions about what the political climate is REALLY like.

These people have NO CHANCE TO WIN.

The only thing they have left is desperation, bullying, chest-thumping, and propaganda.

They are dangerous, but WE are Determined, and WE will take this country back.

10. I like electoral-vote.com
I think it is quite entertaining. And he does make an effort to try to be non-partisan by using whatever latest poll happens to come out.

But as far as foretelling the outcome, don't sweat it. That map is bad news for Bush. An incumbent president who isn't up by at least 10 points on Labor Day should be making plans for his presidential library. He should be clobbering Kerry at this point.

14. The bashing of that site is unbelievable
Two weeks ago, when Kerry was sporting a 100 point lead in the electoral college, that website was the Belle of the Ball. Now it's BS.

Glad we don't shoot the messenger or anything. SHeesh.

16. I bashed it even when it showed Kerry ahead
but you're right, people love to quote it when it shows a Kerry lead, and criticize it when it doesn't. My point is that it's bogus either way, because it accepts any poll without question no matter how meaningless it's methodology is.

15. For those who didn't read the commentary
here's what the web site said about the results they were reporting:

--begin quote--

However, it is worth noting that pollsters aren't always neutral and within the law always do what the client asks for. Strategic Vision normally works only for Republicans and results like these that contradict results from other pollsters in so many states do raise some eyebrows. The polls were completed before the GOP convention opened, so that cannot explain it, but we might be seeing the effect of the swift boat ads.

Polls have become marketing tools for the candidates. According to www.race2004.net "during the 2000 primary race Karl Rove had pollsters call Republican voters in South Carolina asking if John McCain's black baby born out outside of his marriage influenced their decision on whether to support him. The question was not only racist, it was misleading. McCain and his wife adopted a baby from Bangladesh. The child isn't black in the "traditional" sense, and the baby was born outside his marriage because he was adopted."

--end quote--
