That's all they've got? Looked like Mr. Rogers on crack.

He was awful. Geeky, poor breathing, nasal voice and all. No charisma at all.

Excuse me, I meant to say "William Frist, M.D."

Not to even mention his horrible politics.

1. Ha Ha, this guy was a charisma black hole-he sucked up any in the
room and none got out. Never seen such a bad speaker before. How did he ever get elected in the first place?

2. You are so right. That was intolerable.
If I didn't promise myself to simply make fun of these guys I would never have gotten through it.

Can you picture that guy slinkering in to an animal shelter and adopting a cat and taking it home and killing it? I can.

3. Conservatives are going to be SOL in 2008
The front runners are going to be Pataki & Guiliani, two guys who are pro-choice, pro-gay rights, and pro-gun control.

It ought to be fun to see places like FR self-destruct when the moderates take the party back.

16. you forget McCain ?
. . . .he's pretty moderate. . .as Repubs go. . .and yet not quite far enough left to piss off the just-a-little-rabid freeper types. . .

19. . ..not by OUR standards. . .
. . . .but then we won't be nominating him.

If you want to predict what the Repugs will do, you have to be able to approximate their viewpoint, and proceed from there.

To your average Repug, McCain IS moderate. . .

21. McCain is PERCIEVED
as Moderate. His voting record does not qualify him as such. The perception is all that matters, I suppose.

Thank God we won't be nominating him, but interestingly, there was a surprising amount of support on DU for a Kerry/McCain ticket. It was quite chilling, really.

5. He is a total zero. Decent on paper (education, doctor and all that,
scion of wealthy HMO owning family, Columbia/HCA), but utterly lacking in any kind of personal appeal. Way worse than shrubya even. I think that even the most braindead Repub party mogul sees any higher office aspirations from him as dead on arrival. And "Do Not Resuscitate".

I didn't even have to watch him speak tonight to know this, seen him a bit on TV.

20. Even his fellow Republicans don't like him
Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 08:25 AM by quinnox
I read a few articles saying other senators don't think Frist has done a good job as majority leader, that basically he has been a failure.

His star is fading fast, it's highly doubtful he will be the nominee in 2008.

The one I am looking at is Chuck Hagel, he seems very interested in running and he is one of the few Republicans I don't dislike. He would be a thousand times better than Bush.

legislator.

Not to be confused with "Fisking", which is the same activity, performed with a retired, Hall of Fame Boston red Sox cathcer.
